BUFFER ZONESVegetative Buffer StripConstruct and maintain a minimum 10 foot wide vegetative filter strip of grassor other permanent vegetation between the field edge and down gradientaquatic habitat (such as but not limited to lakes reservoirs rivers permanentstreams marshes or natural ponds estuaries and commercial fish farm ponds)

Only apply products containing permethnn onto fields where a maintainedvegetative buffer strip of at least 10 feet exists between the field and downgradient aquatic habitat

For guidance refer to the following publication for information onconstructing and maintaining effective buffers Conservation Buffers toReduce Pesticide Losses Natural Resources Conservation Services USDANRCS 2000 Fort Worth Texas 21 pphttp //www in nrcs usda gov/technical/agronomy/newconbuf pdf

Buffer Zone for Ground Application (groundboom overheadchemigation orairblast) Do not apply within 25 feet of aquatic habitats(such as but not limited to lakes reservoirs rivers permanent streamsmarshes natural ponds estuaries and commercial fish ponds)

Buffer Zone for ULV Aerial Application Do not apply within 450 feet ofaquatic habitats (such as but not limited to lakes reservoirs rivers permanentstreams marshes natural ponds estuaries and commercial fish ponds)

Buffer Zone for Non ULV Aerial Application Do not apply within 150feet of aquatic habitats (such as but not limited to lakes reservoirs riverspermanent streams marshes natural ponds estuaries and commercial fishponds)

Spray Drift PrecautionsWind Direction and SpeedOnly apply this product if the wind direction favors on target depositionDo not apply when the wind velocity exceeds 15 mph

Temperature InversionDo not make aerial or ground applications into temperature inversions

Inversions are characterized by stable air and increasing temperatures withheight above the ground Mist or fog may indicate the presence of an inversionin humid areas The applicator may detect the presence of an inversion byproducing smoke and observing a smoke layer near the ground surface

Droplet SizeUse only Medium or coarser spray nozzles (for ground and non ULV aerialapplication) according to ASAE (S572) definition for standard nozzles Inconditions of low humidity and high temperatures applicators should use acoarser droplet size

Additional Requirements for Ground ApplicationsWind speed must be measured adjacent to the application site on the upwindside immediately prior to application

For ground boom applications apply using a nozzle height of no more than 4feet above the ground or crop canopy

For airblast applications turn off outward pointing nozzles at row ends andwhen spraying the outer two rows To minimize spray loss over the top inorchard applications spray must be directed into the canopy

Additional Requirements for Aerial ApplicationsThe spray boom should be mounted on the aircraft as to minimize drift causedby wmgtip or rotor vortices The minimum practical boom length should beused and must not exceed 75% of the wing span or 80°/ rotor diameter

Flight speed and nozzle orientation must be considered in determining dropletsize

Spray must be released at the lowest height consistent with pest control andflight safety Do not release spray at a height greater than 10 feet above thecrop canopy unless a greater height is required for aircraft safety

When applications are made with a cross wind the swath will be displaceddownwind The applicator must compensate for this displacement at thedownwind edge of the application area by adjusting the path of the aircraftupwind

COMMERCIAL IMPREGNATION AND APPLICATIONOF POUNCE 3 2 EC ON DRY BULK FERTILIZERSPounce 3 2EC insecticide may be impregnated on dry bulk fertilizersWhen applied as directed Pounce/dry bulk fertilizer mixtures provideinsect control equal to that provided by the same rates of Pounceapplied in waterThe Pounce/fertilizer mixtures may be surface applied or shallowincorporated The higher rate should be used if incorporation is usedImpregnation Apply using a minimum of 200 pounds of dry bulkfertilizer per acre and up to a maximum of 450 pounds per acre with therecommended amount of Pounce 3 2EC insecticide per acre Use aclosed rotary drum mixer or a similar type of closed blender equippedwith suitable spray equipment The spray nozzle(s) should bepositioned to provide a uniform fine spray pattern over the tumblingfertilizer for thorough coverage The physical properties of fertilizersvary particularly in liquid absorptive capacity When absorptivity issufficient simple spray impregnation of the fertilizer with Pounceprovides a satisfactory dry mixture If the absorptive capacity isinadequate the use of a highly absorptive powder is required to providea dry flowable mixture Microcel E (Johns Manville ProductsCorporation) is a recommended absorbent powder Generally less than2% by weight of Microcel E is required DO NOT impregnate Pounce3 2EC onto straight coated ammonium nitrate or straight limestonebecause these materials will not absorb the insecticide Dry fertilizerblends containing mixtures of ammonium nitrate or limestone may beimpregnated with Pounce

The amount of Pounce actually required in the preparation of individualfertilizer mixtures should be determined carefully for each productionoperation This is necessary to ensure that the amount of pesticideactually contained in the mixture applied to the soil represents thecorrect rate of use Bulk fertilizer impregnated with Pounce 3 2ECinsecticide should be applied immediately not storedAll individual state regulations relating to bulk dry fertilizer blendingregistration labeling and application of the mixtures are theresponsibility of the individual and/or company selling the fertilizer andPounce mixture

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONSUnless otherwise directed by registered supplemental labeling followthe Directions for Use in each crop group sectionPounce 3 2 EC is a 3 2 pounds per gallon formulation of the insecticidepermethrm Apply Pounce 3 2 EC when insects appear or feeding isnoticed The higher rate should be used as pest populationsmcreaseRepeat the application as necessary to maintain control Pounce 3 2EC may be applied by both ground and aerial equipment Use sufficientwater to obtain full coverage With the exception of crops listed belowrotational crops should not be planted within 60 days of last applicationThis label must be in the possession of the user at the time ofapplication
