SpecialConditions

1. Area 9 is open to bank fishing only.Wading is not permitted.

2. Fishing is permitted from 1⁄2 hourbefore sunrise till 1⁄2 hour aftersunset.

3. Boats (without motors) are onlypermitted in Area 5 and only fromthe second Saturday in Junethrough September 15. Boats mustremain in an area from the dike toArea Closed signs (3000' upstream).

4. All watercraft must be removedfrom the refuge within 1⁄2 hourafter sunset.

5. Ice fishing is permitted in Areas 5and 7 only.

6. The taking of frogs is prohibited.

7. The use or possession of livebaitfish is prohibited on the Seneca Unit.

8. The taking or possessing ofshellfish is prohibited.

Public FishingAreas(see maps)

1. Woodcock Creek at north end—from northern refuge boundary,upstream or south past HickoryCorners Rd. 627 about one-tenthof a mile.

2. Woodcock Overlook Pond—westside of Hanks Road.

3. Woodcock Creek south—downstream from Hanks Road for150 feet.

4. Pool 4 outlet—downstream fromShaffer Road for 150 feet.

5. Pool 9 dike area—bank fishing onthe dike and below the dike alongLake Creek for about 400 feet.Boats without motors and icefishing upstream from the dikenorth to Area Closed signs (3000').

6. Meyers Ponds

7. Pool K—bank fishing along dikeand 300 feet of southwestern shore.

8. Reitz Pond dike.

Bank fishing all creeks and beaverponds in the Seneca Unit, with theexception of the closed area (northof Muddy Creek and west of SwampRoad) from Jan. 15 - Aug. 15.

Fishing access is available for disabled individuals at Pool K (onthe Sugar Lake Division), and onMuddy Creek via Muddy CreekHolly Trail (on the Seneca Division).

All fishing must be in compliancewith PA Fish & Boat Commissionregulations and the followingspecial conditions.

Introduction Refuge areas are open for fishing onehalf-hour before sunrise to one half-hour after sunset. There is road accessto most waters, foot travel to others.Refuge waters for fishing includeHanks Road (1-acre pond and streamaccess), Pool 9 (some bank fishing andnon-powered-boat fishing), MeyersPond (15 acres), Pool K (10 acres withaccess for disabled anglers), ReitzPond (5 acres), and Muddy and DeadCreeks. All fishing seasons are inaccordance with Pennsylvania stateregulations. Available species includerainbow, brook and brown trout,largemouth bass, yellow perch,bluegill, sunfish, carp, crappie andbullhead.
