Introduction

This document presents USA historical catch data for major fish and invertebrate species taken in the area of Georges Bank. The period covered is 1904-1980. Data for each species are from various sources, as described below. Schemes used to apportion catches reported from major fishery areas to Georges Bank (NAFO Subdivision 5Ze) for years prior to establishment of the current statistical areas, are also described. All data are for the USA, only.
