Army Civilians must adhere to the Hatch Act, which is a law intended to assure the public that federal programs are being administered fairly and without the influence of partisan politics. In the same manner as the Hatch Act, military members are under the DOD Directive 1344.10. From May 26 through Dec. 31, Soldiers using the Personally Procured Move program can receive a payment equal to 100 percent of the estimated cost the government would pay to move their items. When Soldiers choose the option, they shoulder the cost and responsibility of packing and moving their belongings themselves and the payment compensates them for those expenses.

AMCOM leads effort to reduce heavy-metal exposure

REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. – A Black Hawk helicopter going through a recapitalization process at Corpus Christi Army Depot is the Army’s first aircraft to receive an undercoat unlike others in the aviation fleet. The Aviation and Missile Command used a “Class N” primer – free of a harmful substance called hexavalent chromium – to cover parts of the disassembled helicopter – showcasing a deliberate approach toward safer maintenance environments.

APG to get more ACFT equipment

ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. – The COVID-19 pandemic and HPCON Charlie will not stop APG Soldiers from achieving physical fitness readiness in preparation for the Army Combat Fitness Test, as the installation is set to receive 26 Sorinex ACFT kits next week. The kits, which include about 800 pounds of weights, will be given to tenant units on the installation and give the units the organic ability to administer the test.

TOBYHANNA ARMY DEPOT, Pa. – Tobyhanna Army Depot employees readily accepted a challenge issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, to produce intubation cubes from sheets of Plexiglas. They transformed the clear material into personal protection equipment that will be used by medical staff in the medical center. The cube acts as a barrier between infectious materials and a person’s skin, mouth, nose or eyes.
