1) Prep the USB Flash Drive

Map a drive:1. Double-click on the Computer icon on your desktop (or My Computer if you have XP)1. Click on Map a Network drive which appears to the left of the Help icon1. Enter: \\fileshares.corp.hp.com\groups\PCCOE_AMERICAS\QR-USB in the Folder field if in the Americas region or \\fileshares.corp.hp.com\groups\PCCOE_EMEA\QR-USB if in the EMEA region or \\fileshares.corp.hp.com\groups\PCCOE_ASIAPACIFIC\QR-USB if in the Asia Pacific region1. Click on Finish. The network drive will open in a new Windows Explorer window.

Insert USB Flash drive that is > 15GB

In Windows Explorer, double-click on the Prepare-QR-USB.vbs file which is in the root of the drive you mapped in step three above.

Click the Yes button when the window to the right appears.The prepare USB program is launched.

Click the OK button.The USB Device window is displayed.

Take note of what Disk # represents the USB Flash Drive (you will need this info for the next step). Then press any key to continueAfter 30 seconds you will see a window similar to this appear

Enter the drive letter of the USB Flash drive in this screen and select OK. The Default Server window is displayed.

Enter Yes to confirm.Confirm window is displayed.

The following window will appear briefly but no interaction is requiredThe diskpart window will appear.

Select the OK button.Drive letter Window will appear

Take note of the drive letter of the USB Flash drive . (you will need this info for the next step) Then press any key to continueThe CMD window will appear.

Enter the Drive letter obtained in the previous step, then select okayDrive letter window is displayed

Select the Yes button.

The command window will appear and all of the files will copy. This process may take a few hours depending on your network connection.

Completion Window

Remove the USB flash drive after the copy is complete and the PC reboots.

2. Reimage the PC

Insert the prepped USB Flash drive into the PC and restart it.

Press F9 key during the windows boot up when the message appears to press the esc key for start up options

The Windows boot manager window will appear

Select to boot the PC from the USB Flash drive

The PC will reboot and after files are copied the standard PC Reimage screens will appear.

3. Troubleshooting

You may encounter this error after the images files are starting to load: An error occurred restoring the image: 2Insert USB flash drive into another port on the PC then hold the power key down for 10 seconds until the PC shuts off and repeat the Reimage the PC steps above.
