Study Abroad/International Student Services

Orientation upon arrival Special Advisors for anything you

may need during your stay Weekly trips to Wal-Mart Special excursions to the beach,

mountains, etc. Information about all resources on

campus

Arrival to USC

You will arrive to the Columbia, South Carolina airport (CAE)

Free airport pick-up is provided by a local community group

You will be brought to the Study Abroad Office, where we help you get your ID card, computer log-in, etc.

Student volunteers will help introduce you to campus and take you to your residence hall

USC also offers a “Buddies Beyond Borders” program you can join

Housing Exchange students are

required to live on-campus and are guaranteed placements

Students will live in halls that remain open during breaks and that have kitchen facilities.

Rooms could be single or shared

Typical halls are Maxcy, the Quads, Horseshoe apartments, and Bates West

Meals

Students may purchase a meal plan with 7-21 meals/week

Students may also prepare their own meals in the residence halls

There are numerous restaurants and eating facilities on campus

Immigration Document

Application materials will be provided to you via your local exchange coordinator

You will submit materials directly to the USC Study Abroad Office

Additional Requirements Upon Acceptance

Students will be required to submit immunization records

Students are required to have health insurance. They must either enroll in USC’s policy or provide proof of comparable coverage.
