Make a Plan to Rescan WBGU-TV! Many local TV stations will soon be moving to new frequencies. Your channels won’t change, but if you watch TV for free, over the air with an antenna, you will need to rescan your TV or converter box when your stations move to continue watching. You do not need to purchase any new equipment. If you subscribe to cable or satellite television, you do not need to do anything. To learn more, visit TVAnswers.org and stay tuned to WBGU-TV. Follow @TVAnswers and @wbgutv on social for the latest news and updates. Select “scan” or “autotune” from your TV or converter box control menu to start the scanning process. You can usually find instructions by pressing the set-up” or “menu” buttons on your television or digital antenna remote control. If you have difficulty, consult the owner’s manual for more detailed instructions on how to run a channel scan, or contact customer service for your TV or converter box manufacturer. After you rescan your TV set, the channel number for WBGU-TV will remain the same. How do I know when to rescan? WBGU-TV rescan day is planned for November 27, 2018*. TV stations must move frequencies at different times starting in the fall of 2018 through at least the spring of 2020, so if you watch TV for free using an antenna you may need to rescan more than once. *Date is subject to change.
