USE, CARE AND MAINTENANCE

3 STEPS BEFORE USING YOUR BODY ARMOR SYSTEM

1 Inspect Your ArmorCheck to make sure you have received the correct model, size and components of your armor system. Your RISE vest is made up of several components:

• The uniform carrier with locking belt cover

• The front and back ballistic panels

• One QuadCore Attachment System™ including belt and QuickLock™ attachment clips

Please remember, wearing your R.U.C carrier without the ballistic panels does not provide any protection. Do not mix and match ballistic panels with carriers from different brands or manufacturers. Doing so may void the Angel Armor manufacturer’s warranty.

For information about Angel Armor’s Truth SNAP® rifle plates, visit angelarmor.com/truth.

Insert Ballistic Panels and Truth SNAP PlatesBallistic Panels

• Insert front and rear ballistic panels separately at inside bottom of carrier using zipper opening with “STRIKE FACE” side facing away from your body

• The rifle plate pocket should sit on top of the ballistic panel label away from the body

• Once the panels are inserted, close zippers and feed the shoulder straps through the shoulder ports

• Adhere the shoulders straps front on top of back, the back straps may run behind the front panel

Truth SNAP Plates• Insert your plates at the interior pocket of your carrier at the

bottom for front and rear

• To insert, use pull-tab to separate the hook and loop flap exposing the pocket interior, identify the corresponding pocket for your plate size by referencing internal label, ensure “THIS SIDE TOWARD BODY” side of plate is facing your body

• Additional smaller plate pockets reside inside the main pocket, accessed by separating the horizontal hook and loop fastener

• For smaller plate sizes, roll the bottom of the pocket up for desired plate height, we recommend securing the plate at the top of the pocket closest to the jugular notch

• Secure hook and loop flap and close inside zipper

3 Adjust Your VestNow you are ready to put your vest on. Start by making sure the front panel shoulder straps are adhered on top of the back panel shoulder straps. Next, don the vest over-the-head and loosely attach one side of the top belt end to the top peg of the clip. It is critical the front panel covers the back panel for safety. Attach the other side in the same manner. Now you can finish off with both bottom straps and adjust to your desired tension and comfort. This approach ensures evenly distributed overlap. Your overlap provides you side ballistic protection. If your overlap protection is uneven, re-adjust the vest and straps to provide an even amount of protection. Remember not to wear your vest too tight as it may limit your mobility and cause unnecessary wear and tear on the ballistic panels.

When you are comfortable with the fit, we recommend folding the excess belt ends over onto the clip peg to avoid catching in the magnetic hardware of the belt cover. If you choose, it can be helpful to leave one side of the vest attached to reduce donning time.

Next, attach one side of the belt cover by locating the bottom Fidlock® magnetic SNAP and finish off with the top; you will hear an audible click when successfully engaged. Finish by securing the hook and loop fastener flat on the vest for a professional appearance. Please note: the belt is adaptable and stretches to secure the magnetic hardware if out of alignment. Attach the other side in the same manner. Keep excess belt ends clear of the Fidlock® SNAPS to ensure proper engagement. To remove belt cover, simply separate the hook and loop fastener, and pull towards your belly button to disengage magnetic hardware. DO NOT pull straight off; this can cause damage to the hardware.

If using load-bearing pouches ensure the heavier items such as radios and stun guns etc. attach on the vest and not the belt cover. Lighter weight items are preferred for the belt cover.

Your vest is bullet resistant, not bulletproof. It is designed to defeat certain rounds, but it will not protect you against all threats or any area that it does not cover.

Elevate your protection with the Truth SNAP plate system. This is the only patent-pending system available on the market with dual strike faces, an ultra-lightweight design and multi-hit capability. Truth SNAP is designed to defeat prevalent rifle threats, including the M855 (Green Tip). This innovative system allows officers to never have to go to their trunk for active shooter kits again. STORING YOUR VESTProper storage and frequent inspection of your vest can help you maintain the life of your armor. Once the armor is removed from its packaging, care should be taken to store it flat — either on a shelf or other flat surface. When this is not practical, suspending it on a clothes hanger is the next best method. Your body armor should never be folded, compressed or stood on its edge. This improper storage will create “excessive permanent creases” in your body armor and may cause curling at the edges.

Store your body armor at room temperature as often as possible. Never store your armor in places where temperatures exceed 130-150°F, like a trunk of a vehicle. Excessive temperatures may compromise the ballistic integrity of your body armor and its performance specifications.

It is important to note that improper storage of your vest may void the warranty.

CLEANING YOUR VESTClean each component of your RISE Armor System separately and NEVER as a complete system.

CLEANING RISE ARMOR PANELS

Remove the front and rear armor panels from carrier before cleaning. Gently wipe with a damp sponge or cloth using cold water and a mild laundry detergent if necessary. Lay flat and wipe dry. The shoulder straps and belt may be cleaned in a similar manner.

CLEANING RISE ARMOR CARRIERS

DO NOT machine wash. Remove the armor panels and/or hard armor plates from the carrier before cleaning. Surface wipe carrier for normal dirt & dust using a soft, clean sponge or cloth using cold water and a mild laundry detergent if necessary. To treat tough spots on the carrier’s exterior fabric, pretreat by spraying a laundry-stain remover or dry-cleaning solvent. Allow to soak into fabric for a least an hour. Combine 8 oz. of warm water with 1 tbsp. of a bleach-free and chlorine-free laundry detergent in a spray bottle. Swirl the bottle to mix. Spray the cleaning solution onto the stain. Use a soft to medium bristled cleaning brush to work the cleaning solution into the fabric. Dampen a soft cloth with cool water and squeeze to remove excess moisture. Wipe down to remove any soap residue. Place carrier on a hanger and allow to air dry indoors. Ensure the carrier is completely dry before reinserting armor panels.
