INTRODUCTION DMESSAGETM , THE POP-UP MESSAGE SENDER SOFTWARE ON LOCAL NETWORK.
dMessage ™ is a pop-up messaging solution that allows you to send pop-up messages to target users
through your local network.
With dMessage ™, you can:
- Define message templates by categories of users
- Send messages to target users, groups or computers by using conditions (group in the directory, presence of a file on their desktop, executing a process…) or a predetermined timetable.
- Track the message deliveries on users’ machines
Therefore, you can regularly broadcast news or information to the relevant users the right information
about the corporate life and their activities such as the workers’ committee newsletter, IT charter
reminder, memorandum or progress on support incidents…

1. CREATE AND SEND A MESSAGE Sending a message with dMessageTM is performed by using the dMessageTM console in two different steps:
- Creation of a message or a message template
- Sending a message (From a template or not)
Launching of the console
Click on the icon to launch the console of sending messages
1.1 dMessageTM console presentation
The dMessageTM console allows you to edit and send messages to your users.
It is divided into two distinct management areas:
- a top area for template management - a bottom area for message management

Creating and sending messages are done directly through the buttons provided for this purpose in each
area:
- “New” button to create a new message or a template - "Send now" or "Send again" buttons to send a message
1.2 Create a message with dMessage TM
Creating a message is divided into 4 steps:
- Defining the basic parameters - Publishing the message contents - Choosing the recipients - Adding optional parameters (range of validity and filters to apply on the recipients)
Note: each time you send a message (from a template or not) from the
console, the editing widow will open in order for you to check and
customize your message before sending it.

1.2.1 Use the message editing interface
Launching the dMessage console
Click on the “New” button in the "messages” area or the “templates" area to create a message or a template.
Note: when you create a new template, you can save it but cannot send it
directly from the template creation interface.
However, if you create a new message without a template, you can send
the message directly.
The interface for creating messages is divided into 3 parts:
- A first part for the basic parameters - A second part for step choice: editing content, choosing recipients or adding conditions - A third part for information input

1.2.2 Step 1: The basic settings
Basic setup
1) Specify the message information level. Three levels for messages are available:
- Information (Icon in the lists of templates or
messages : ) - Warning (Icon in
the lists of templates or
messages : )
- Alert (Icon in the lists of templates or messages
: )
2) Choose a category of users

Example: You can configure the sending console so the users from the
“corporate Information” category can only read or edit messages of their
category. From the sending console, they will not have access to messages
belonging to other categories than “Corporate Information”.
Basic setup

the message :

Discrete : Simple animation of the icon in the notification area depending of the level of priority. Caution, the message will not appear automatically as a pop-up and this, whatever level of priority it is.
Pop-up message: A pop-up window appear on the recipient’s workstations
Information bubble: A tooltip appears in the bottom right-hand corner of the recipient’s screen during few seconds. The image displayed depends of the level of priority of the message. One click on the tooltip opens the pop-up.

receive a blank (if the language of its OS is French).
Therefore, if you use only one language, we strongly recommend that you
disable all unnecessary languages and use only the “Default language”
tab.
For the message body, you can import an rtf file. For this, clear the "Description" field using the
button and then import your rtf file by clicking the button .
Word will make you able to edit your .rtf file.
Note: For the user convenience, it is recommended to put a short text for the title
and add additional information in the message body field.

2.7 Managing the messages access rights
In order to benefit from this feature, the version 6.02.4 (or higher) must be installed on the sender
workstation.
The authenticity of messages created through dMessage™ can be managed by controling the
dMessage™ console access to the directory of messages.
Manage the messages access rights
Step 1: Create a ‘security’ sub-folder in the storage folder
Step 2: Create the following txt files in the ‘security’ folder: AutorizedComputers.txt AutorizedGroups.txt AutorizedUsers.txt
Step 3: Specify inside the
related file (as in the model
opposite) the users, groups
ou computers allowed to
display the messages
directory content.
Note 1: We recommend to limit as much as possible the number of accounts having access to the ‘security’ folder.
Note 2: The asterisk * is allowed.
Note 3: If the ‘security’ sub-folder is created and no files are put inside, no one will not be able to display messages in the console.
Note 4: The TXT files have a cumulative impact. For example, if the three files are configured, the sender should be sure that:
The name of his computer is listed in AutorizedComputers.txt
His user name is listed in AutorizedUsers.txt
At least one of his groups is listed in AutorizedGroups.txt
