June 2020
NSW Department of Education
OverviewThe goal of the User Logon Experience Project (ULEP) is to provide a consistent logon method, create a more secure environment and save time by reducing the number of logons.
• Standardised Logon
⎼ staff will log on using their full email address for most department devices, systems and services
• Secured Logon
⎼ multi-factor authentication (MFA) will prompt staff to validate their identity with a security code before enabling access to personal details in Staff Portal and SAP ESS
⎼ will be implemented later this year
• Streamlined Logon
⎼ once logged onto a device, staff will be automatically logged onto applications and services without further credential prompts
⎼ will be implemented later this year
NSW Department of Education
Why is this work being undertaken?
To provide a standard logon method across applications and services
To enable other ITD projects to deliver additional MS Office 365 services and provide larger mailboxes to staff
To provide additional protection for your personal details
To return time to staff and students through single sign-on at a later date
To enable staff to access cloud-based applications and services in a user-friendly manner
To allow the department to more easily integrate applications and services in the market place today
