3.2 Reference Layout to Load the Cage with Standard Bottles

ADVICE

Every JOLLY-CO Bottle Cage for Sparkling Wine Production Process is de-signed to be loaded with a specific bottle format. For this purpose, the contain-ment wire meshes in the cages have a variable number and position of metallic rods. It is not allowed to load the cage with bottles in a different format than the one specified in the order.

To set an example, hereafter is displayed the reference layout to load the cage with four parallel columns of 126 standard bottles (diameter 88). Total number of bottles: 504.

4 Transport, Installation and Assembly

4.1 Transport Instructions

Loading and unloading can be carried out using a crane or a fork lift.

The transport has to be carried out with every precaution needed to keep the product undam-aged.

During the transport, the product must never risk to be damaged by collisions with other materi-als loaded on the same vehicle.

Before unloading the mean of transport, you have to check that the packaging is whole and there is no roll-over risk.

To avoid possible damages, we recommend you to be careful during the unloading and position-ing of the product.

In handling the packing, please pay attention to the signs on them. The strop lifting force must be suitable to the packing weight. Do not use metal strops in transport, unloading and handling.

4.2 Indoor Handling

The cage loaded with bottles can be lifted using a transpallet or a regular forklift truck and position-ing the forks as shown in picture 4.1.

4.3 Installation

Select the place where the cages will be positioned ensuring that they can be lifted at any mo-ment using transpallet or a regular forklift trucks as indicated in the previous section.

The cages are to be used in an environment whose features comply with the present laws.

The cages are to be positioned on a flat spot with a sufficient capacity to support the cages all up weight and possibly up to 5 cages positioned one on top of the other (Section 4.4). Picture 4.2 shows the section of the cage support area and indicates the values in millimetres. The ta-ble hereafter indicates the strength properties required for the place where the cages are to be positioned.

4.4 Storage

During the storage period, the cages loaded with bottles can be placed one on top of the other up to a maximum of 5 cages. Please, refer to picture 4.4 and position the bottom of the cages down-wards.

Special attention must be given to the superposition operations as the bottom tubular elements of the cage positioned on top must be properly inserted be-tween the containment ends in the side faces of the lower cage.

In the case the customer plans to pile up five cages loaded with bottles in an earthquake zone, the cages movements must be limited by tiding the cages along the horizontal axis. For example, fix the cages to a wall to block possible movements.

4.5 Cage Use in Machines for Sparkling Wine Produc-tion

The cages loaded with bottles can be positioned on industrial machines for sparkling wine production. For further information on how to use the cages in machines for sparking wine produc-tion, please refer to the machine User and Maintenance Manual (Pic. 4.5).

Picture 4.5

Special attention must be given to the correct coupling of cages and bottles. Especially regarding the Ø6 rod pitches in the side and bottom faces. By doing so you will avoid dangerous knocking or possible bottle breaks.

5 Assembly and Use of Bottles Cages

5.1 How to Assemble the Cages

To assemble the cages correctly, follow these instructions:

Rest on the ground the bottom of the cage on which the two side faces are hinged and folded (Pic. 5.1).

Unfold the cage side faces up to the vertical position (Pic. 5.2).

Picture 5.1

Picture 5.2

Position the cage front face in shaped metal between the two side faces. To do so, fix the U-shaped end of the front face in the tubular elements of the side faces, but also in the position block in the bottom part (Pic. 5.3).

Lift the cage front face up to the vertical position in order to match the lateral holes in the front face with the holes in the side faces (Pic. 5.4).

Picture 5.3

Picture 5.4

Fix the cage front face to the side faces by inserting two locking pivots with safety rings in the holes especially created for this purpose (Pic. 5.5).

Insert the top front frame with no protruding parts between the two side faces (Pic. 5.6). To do so, insert the pivots welded on the sides of the frames (Pic. 5.7) in the grooves that can be found on the side faces.

13

Position the cage back face (metallic grid 50x50) between the two side faces. To do so, insert its lateral vertical tubular elements in the metallic pivots welded on the bottom face (Pic. 5.11).

Fix the eyebolt of the fastener on the back face to the hooks welded on the side faces (Pic. 5.12).

Picture 5.11

Picture 5.12

Close the fastener on the back face by pressing down the lever and make sure the fastener tightening is correct (Pic. 5.13).

If the fastener tightening is not satisfactory, loosen the lever, disengage the eyebolt from the hooks and screw the eyebolt on the handle until it reaches the correct tension. Repeat the fas-tening operations and check the tightening.

Before loading the bottles, check the whole assembly carried out (Pic. 5.14), check the ele-ments inserted and the parts fixed as well as the cage stability.

5.2 How to Load the Cages

To load the cages with sparkling wine bottles:

Before loading the sparling wine bottles you must partially assemble the cage by correctly fixing the bottom, side and front faces (Pic. 5.15).

Position the first row of bottles on the cage bottom and push them to make the neck rest on the cage front face (Pic. 5.16).

Position the second row of bottles on top of the first one. The second row will have one bottle more than the first row and they all have to rest on the front face (Pic. 5.17).

Position the third row of bottles on top of the second one. The third row will have one bottle less than the second row (the same number as the first row) and they all have to rest on the front face.

Repeat the procedure until you fill the first column (Pic. 5.18, position A).

Position another row of bottles on the cage bottom and push them to make the neck rest on the bottom of the previous column (Pic 5.18, position B).

Position the second row of bottles on top of the first one. The second row will have one bottle more than the first row and they all have to rest on the previous column.

Position the third row of bottles on top of the second one. The third row will have one bottle less than the second row (the same number as the first row) and they all have to rest on the previ-ous column.

Repeat the procedure until you fill the second column.

Assemble the top front frame with no protruding parts as explained before (Pic. 5.19).

Repeat the cage loading procedure you carried out for the first two columns until you completely fill the cage with four columns of bottles which must rest on each other following the neck-bottom pattern.

Assemble the top back frame with protruding parts as explained before (Pic. 5.21).

Assemble the back face and close the cage as explained before (Pic. 5.22).

Lock the fastener on the back face by pressing down the lever and make sure the fastener tight-ening is correct (Pic. 5.23).
