1 Introduction
MyMCX Team is delighted to present this user manual of MyMCX android application, which helps to
control Sony MCX-500 switcher.
The MCX-500 is an affordable, uniquely user-friendly and flexible production switcher that makes it
simple for a single operator or small team to produce a broadcast quality live event. Multiple video
inputs include professional 3G-SDI, HDMI, Composite Video plus dedicated DSK mean you can mix and
match kit as needed for each production.
Live video switching
The unit allows switching between up to four cameras
Audio mixing
Mix audio using up to 5 lines of input (four lines of embedded audio input and one LINE input).
Settings, adjustments and remote controls via PC UI
Unit setting configurations and video composite adjustments are performed on a computer via the “PC
UI.” The PC UI allows you to perform operations identical to those of the control panel from a remote
location.
Steaming transmission using the Ustream service is supported
The following steps will show you how to setup App and enjoy it.

2.1 Login to MyMCX Application
After successfully installing MyMCX application on your android tablet, the first step is to setup an
Administrator account with your email id. Tap on Signup button and register as administrator.

After admin registration it will take you to the login page, please enter the credentials that you
have created.
2.2 Admin Dashboard
In Admin dashboard you have two tabs, users and layouts. In users tab, you have options to
create/edit/delete users and delete assigned layouts from each user. In Layouts tab, you have options
to create/edit/delete layouts and assign it to users.

Here you can find all the users who are already registered and you can tap on each of them to
get user details. For registering user, tap on the “+” sign on the top right.

Go to the admin panel by clicking back button on the top
Layouts Tab
Here you can find all the layouts that are created and you can tap on each of those layouts to
get details. For creating new layout, tap on the “+” sign.
Tap on ’+’ sign to create layout according to your setup.

After successfully saving the layout you can assign the layout to each users. For assigning layout
to a user, select the user from the dropdown, swipe on a layout which you want to assign and
tap on add to user button. Assigned layout can be deleted from the user profile under user
dashboard.
2.3 User Dashboard
Now you have an active user with a layout assigned. Please logout from the admin dashboard and login
as a user.
Below is the screen you will get after the first login, after which you have to configure MCX-
500 by clicking on the “+” sign on top right corner.
Enter Name, IP Address and port number (Default port number is 80) to add to your device list.

By clicking on the device list entry you can get connection to MCX-500.
Remove/modify the device from the list by swiping it to the left side.
If your app is connected to MCX-500, you will be notified by a connected alert. Please check
your network connection if you stuck with some connection errors.
By clicking on ok button you will be forwarded to the main control page.

1. PGM master fader
Adjusts the audio output level for the PGM output. The output level will be the same for the L
and R channels.
2. Live Block
Displays which source is going live. The button lights red and the material assigned to that input
number is output as the PGM output. This cannot be changed directly from this block.
3. AUDIO ACCESS buttons
Displays menus for adjusting the audio in the menu panel.
Buttons 1 to 4: Displays the audio adjustment menus for audio corresponding to inputs 1 to 4
of the video selection block.
LINE button: Displays the audio adjustment menu for the LINE input connectors.
When an audio input is being used for PGM output, the corresponding button lights in orange.
4. Video selection block
Allows you to select videos (materials).
You can view the images available for selection and the selection results on the multi-viewer
PNP button is used here to know the status.
5. Layout selection block
Allows you to choose the layout according to your current setup assigned to you by your
administrator.
6. This is the block you may use more to take your all actions to live. Go live button switches the
PGM video according to the selected pattern and transition rate. Cut button switches the PGM
video instantly via a cut.
7. Menu panel (touch panel)
Displays a menu based on the operation or function being performed. You can perform
transition or composite pattern selection and other controls and adjustments for each function
here.

2.4 App Update 2.0 : PTZ camera control with MyMCX App
The main attraction that we added in this version is the integration of PTZ camera control. Now with
this integration you can simply add PTZ cameras and control the same with the use of camera
presets. If you are using Sony PTZ cameras as MCX video inputs then while selecting the preview you
will get all the presets of the selected PTZ and with that preset you can control the camera.
First step is to add all the PTZ cameras that you are going to use as your video input. Login to Admin
dashboard for managing PTZ cameras.
On the admin dashboard now we can add/Remove PTZ cameras that are connected to the same
network as mcx connected. After that you can assign the PTZ camera to the respective MCX input.

While creating the layout you can assign PTZ camera to each input. Choose a corresponding
PTZ camera from the dropdown menu.
Now login to the user account and connect to MCX with the device password.

Simply you can tap on the video input button which is connected and assigned with PTZ
camera to get all the presets.
In the popup choose which preset position you want to use and this will take the camera to
that preset position.
