Before operating VTRON Digicom Magic 3000 Multi-screen Processor, please carefully read and

follow the clauses below:

Perfect grounding measures (as in the left figure)

The product should be grounded properly, or else not only the user

safety isn’t ensured, but also harmful influences are caused: improper

grounding measures may cause serious system fault, making the

system unstable or unreliable, or even cause the system complete

paralysis.

Do not change the original design

Do not add or delete any mechanical parts or electrical loop of the

product, or else VTRON isn’t responsible for any result thereby.

Do not install illegal software

The Multi-screen signal processor described in this manual is

dedicated image processing and control device, and shouldn’t be used

for other purposes. If it is necessary to install other software, please

consult VTRON or designated agent, or else VTRON isn’t

responsible for any result thereby.

Be sure to cut off power supply

Please cut off the power supply before the following operations:

A. Remove or reinstall any part (unless HOT SWAP parts).

B. Disconnect or reconnect the electrical plug of any part or any

other connections.

Away from corrosive chemicals, pharmaceuticals

The corrosive chemicals and pharmaceuticals will damage the

mechanical parts and electrical loop of the product and affect the

service life directly. Do not use highly volatile solvents or detergents,

such as gasoline, thinner and acetone, to clean the interior and

exterior of the product.

Away from flammable, explosive objects

The flammable and explosive objects are not only the threat of the

product, but also the user safety.

Away from strong electromagnetic interference equipment

In the environment with strong electromagnetic interference, the

performance of the product can’t be exerted, and the stability is also

affected.

Disconnecting device of the power supply

This device uses appliance coupler or power plug as the

disconnecting device. Please make sure that the plug or coupler is

reachable, so as to disconnect the power supply through the coupler

or plug upon emergency.

Note

A. The device integrates replaceable batteries. It may cause

explosion if the battery model isn’t proper. Please replace

with the batteries provided by VTRON.

B. Follow the instructions to dispose the used batteries.

1. Introduction

Digicom Magic 3000 Multi-screen Processor is developed, designed and manufactured by VTRON. It is

a general processor with wide application, powerful function and high performance-price ratio. It is used

in large screen HD display wall system, and works on windows operating system and provides a HD

computer graphics interface.

1.1 What’s Multi-screen Processor

Multi-screen processor is also called as Multi-screen mosaic controller, which is a dedicated

graphics processing device basing on an operating system and integrating Multi-screen driving

function. In another word, it is a powerful computer system, but it is also a powerful graphics

server system, which is different from common computer system. In addition to the hardware of the

computer, Digicom Magic 3000 Multi-screen Processor also integrates high performance dedicated

graphics card, which is powerful in graphics processing and provides HD driving signals for every

display channel. Digicom Magic 3000 Multi-screen Processor outputs single channel DVI signals

and the top bandwidth is 330MHz.

1.2 Features of Digicom Magic 3000 Multi-screen Processor

Digicom Magic 3000 Multi-screen Processor is a widely used, powerful and high performance-

price ratio general Multi-screen processor, which is used for HD display mosaic system. It runs

under windows operating system, and provides a large breadth and HD Windows graphics

environment.

Features:

Generating high resolution unified logical screen

Through professional image mosaic processor, all these computer graphics display signals can

splice and generate a high resolution logical screen (also called as desktop signal), which is used to

display high resolution pictures, and can run certain industry application software and display

through mosaic wall.

Color depth

The color depth is 16bits, 24bits and 64bits, which can satisfy the requirement of common colors,

and also support true color.

Supporting mainstream media playing software

Digicom Magic 3000 Multi-screen Processor supports playing active video with common media

playing software (e.g. Windows Media Player). All these windows support full screen roaming,

scaling, cross-screen and superposition.

Network function

Support Ethernet network interface, common network protocols such as TCP/IP, and the Vlink

Express network signal window developed VTRON independently.

Comprehensive processing and display of various signals

The mosaic wall system created with VTRON Digicom Ark 3100SP/3200SP Multi-screen Processor

and VTRON Visionpro Display units can realize the processing for RGB signals and

NTSC/PAL/SECAM video signals, which can display in window dynamically or in real-time on

the high resolution desktop spliced with processors, and allow cross-screen roaming, scaling and

superposition.

Integrates hardware acceleration function (optional, depending on configuration)

Digicom Magic 3000 Multi-screen Processor integrates high performance CPU, which can satisfy

the requirement on processing speed in the entire system. In addition, the graphics card designed

and developed for Multi-screen processing display also has excellent processing ability in hardware

acceleration, efficiency and drawing quality.

2.2 Panel

Digicom Magic 3000 Multi-screen Processor adopts IPC 3U industrial motherboard chassis. The

motherboard is compatible with all series server motherboards, ATX motherboard and full series

cards; the motherboard supports up to 7 slots server motherboard.

NOTE:

Signal output cable cannot be pulled out or inserted when the processor is working with

power.

The figure below is for reference only. The specific configuration shall be in accordance

with the customer order.

2.2.1 OLD version of 3000 processor

2.2.2 Upgraded 3000 processor

Front panel:

The following figure shows the main appearance of the front panel. There are two handles, one

power status indicator, one monitor display, one state indicator, and three function keys.

The following table describes the indicators and function keys.

3. Installation

Note: The installation should be performed by qualified technical engineers.

Digicom Magic 3000 Multi-screen Processor is delivered as a complete device. All the hardware

installation procedures of the Multi-screen signal processor have been completed according to the

production process strictly in the factory, and had passed the high temperature and aging test. The user

only needs to connect the Multi-screen signal processor to peripheral equipment.

After unpacking, please check the amount according to the packing list; if any part is missing, please

contact the supplier. The packing list is in the package.

3.1 Installing the Cabinet

Digicom Magic 3000 Multi-screen Processor adopts standard professional industrial chassis and

modular design, which make it convenient to install the Multi-screen processor in standard cabinet.

Digicom Magic 3000 Multi-screen Processor can be installed on the dedicated mounting rack near the

display wall, or in the dedicated cabinet. However, it should be noted that if the Multi-screen

processor is installed in the cabinet, please pay attention to the ventilation and cooling inside the

cabinet, because although the Multi-screen processor has excellent cooling capacity, the ambient

temperature will rise gradually if the hot air in the cabinet isn’t circulated for long time, which will

affect the performance and life of the equipment.

The power outlet of Digicom Magic 3000 Multi-screen Processor is in the lower left corner in the rear

panel of the device. Please use the provided cables to connect the power outlet of the device and

receptacle. Unqualified power cord will affect the power supply of the equipment and thus affect the

stability and electrical security of the device. In addition, to ensure the power supply stability of the

Multi-screen signal processor, the power outlet of the processor should be connected to separate

receptacle and do not share with other devices.

3.2 Connecting to User Network

Digicom Magic 3000 Multi-screen Processor can work in the network. Therefore, it is usually

necessary to connect the Multi-screen processor to network through hub in actual application. In the

rear panel of the Multi-screen processor, there are two dedicated network ports, which are used to

connect the device to hub.

3.3 System Grounding

To ensure the safety and stability of the device and safety of operators, please implement proper

grounding measures, i.e. use dedicated grounding conductor to connect the grounding bolt in the lower

right corner in the rear panel to dedicated grounding system in proper means.

Note: To ensure safe operation and normal working of the system, the electrical grounding of electronic

products is compulsory. Improper grounding will affect the reliability and stability of the system, as well

as signal quality. Therefore, please consider the grounding measures of the entire system when install the

Digicom Magic 3000 Multi-screen Processor, including the grounding measure of power supply (e.g.

use qualified 3-core power cord and power outlet). In addition, to install the Multi-screen processor in

high-rise building, the device should be grounded with dedicated grounding system, and keep certain

distance from the grounding system of the building. Improper grounding system has great negative

impact on the signal transmission of the device, which is represented that the images have interference

that can’t be eliminated. For more information, please consult VTRON and maintain proper grounding

during operation.

3.4 Start

3.4.1 Normal running

Open the lower door in front panel, turn on the power switch, and the Digicom Magic 3000 Multi-

screen Processor enters Windows system automatically, and the Digicom computer desktop appears

on the display wall.

Digicom Magic 3000 Multi-screen Processor bases on Windows system, so its start interface is same

to the Windows system. If it is different, it is because that the items on desktop relate to current

task and desktop plan. In addition, when the task is changed, the desktop also may change

accordingly.

3.4.2 Turning off

To turn off the Multi-screen processor:

(1) Stop all programs and exit the system.

(2) Turn off the power supply of the processor.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Environment and Cleaning

Note: The device doesn't require interior adjustment and doesn’t contain any parts that can be

repaired by the user. If it is necessary to replace parts or repair the device, please contact local

service center. We are ready to provide perfect services and solve your problem.

Routine Inspection and Maintenance

(1) Keep the operating environment dust-free, dry and ventilated.

(2) Operating temperature: 0℃~40℃

Relative humidity: 20%~80% (no condensing)

(3) Always keep the device clean, and do not clean the device with coarse tools.

(4) Do not put any object in and on the ventilation holes and slots. Do not spray any liquid or

chemicals on or around the device.

Cleaning the device

1) Please cut off the power supply before cleaning.

2) Do not use liquid or spray cleaner to clean the interior or exterior of the device.

3) Do not use corrosive solution (e.g. chemical thinner, acetone, gasoline or abrasive

cleaners), which may damage the exterior of the device.

4.2 Routine Inspection

(1) Check whether the system grounding is proper every month;

(2) Check whether the cables and power cords are broken or worn every month; check whether the

connectors and inserters are loose, corroded or oxidized;

(3) If the device isn’t used often, please turn it on for 1-2 hours every week; in wet season, turn on

at least once every day.
