    Thank you for choosing this machine.

    The Users Guide [Enlarge Display Operations]

    contains details on the operation of the various

    functions available in the Enlarge Display mode of the

    bizhub C351 and on the various operating precautions.

    In order to ensure that this machine is used correctlyand efficiently, carefully read the Enlarge Display Mode

    Operations volume of the Users Guide before using

    the machine.

    After reading the Enlarge Display Mode Operations

    volume of the Users Guide, store it in the designated

    holder so that it can easily be referred to when

    questions or problems arise during operation.

    2 Touch panel Displays various screens andmessages.

    Specify the various settings bydirectly touching the touch panel.

    3 [Access] key If user authentication or accounttrack settings have been applied,press this key after entering the username and password (for userauthentication) or the account name

    and password (for account track) inorder to use this machine.

    4 [Reset] key Press to clear all settings (exceptprogrammed settings) entered inthe control panel and touch panel.

    5 Auxiliary powerbutton

    Pressed to turn on/off machineoperations, for example, for

    copying, printing or scanning. Whenturned off, the machine enters astate where it conserves energy.

    6 [Stop] key Press the [Stop] key during copyingto stop the copy operation.

    7 [Start] key Press to start copying. When thismachine is ready to begin copying,

    the indicator on the [Start] key lightsup in green. If the indicator on the[Start] key lights up in orange,copying cannot begin.Press to restart a stopped job.

    touch the desired function or setting shown on the

    touch panel.

    Do not apply extreme pressure to the touch panel,

    otherwise it may be scratched or damaged. Never push

    down on the touch panel with force, and never use ahard or pointed object to make a selection in the touch

    panel.

    Icons Displayed in the Screen

    Icon Description

    This button appears when there is a messageindicating that a print error occurred. Touchthis button to display the message, and thenperform the necessary steps.

    Touch this button to display the message inEnlarge Display mode.

    Touch this button to return the message to itsstandard size from Enlarge Display mode.

    This icon appears when the toner has runout. The color (Y, M, C or K) of the emptytoner is indicated, and copies can no longerbe made. Replace the toner cartridge.

    This icon appears when the toner is about torun out. The color (Y, M, C or K) of the nearlyempty toner is indicated.

    This icon appears when it is time to replacean imaging unit. The color (Y, M, C or K) ofthe imaging unit to be replaced is indicated,and copies can no longer be made. Contactyour technical representative.

    This icon appears when it is almost time toreplace an imaging unit. The color (Y, M, C orK) of the imaging unit to soon be replaced isindicated.

    If the message Input User Name and Password to

    login. appears, user authentication settings have been

    specified on this machine.

    If user authentication settings have been applied, this

    machine can only be used by users who enter their user

    name and password. When the following screen

    appears, type in the user name and password.

    For a user name and password, contact the machinesadministrator.

    desired user name can be selected from the list.

    Touch [List], touch the button for the desired user

    name to select it, and then touch [OK].Skip to step 3.

    To select a user name from a different list of user

    names, touch [List], and then touch [List All

    Users] to display a list of all users. If more than 6

    user names have been specified, touch [ ] or

    [ ]. Touch [ ] to display the previous list of

    user names. Touch [ ] to display the next listof user names. Touch the button for the desired

    user name to select it, and then touch [OK].

    Placing the Document on the Original Glass

    1Lift open the ADF or original cover. When placing the document on the original glass,

    be sure to lift open the ADF or original cover at

    least 20. If the document is placed on the

    original glass without the ADF being lifted at least

    20, the correct document size will not be

    detected.

    2 Position the document face down onto theoriginal glass.

    Load the document pages so that the top of the

    document is toward the back or the left side of

    the machine.

    Scanning a Multi-Page Document From the Original

    Glass

    When making double-sided or combined copies using

    the original glass, place each page of a multi-page

    document on the original glass to scan it. The following

    procedure describes how to place single-sided

    document pages on the original glass to make double-

    sided copies.

    1 Lift open the ADF or original cover.

    2 Position the first page or the first side of thedocument face down onto the original glass.

    For details on positioning the document, refer to

    Placing the Document on the Original Glass on

    page 2-4.

    3 Close the ADF or original cover.

    The following procedure describes how to specify the

    type of document to be copied.

    Copying Documents of Mixed Sizes (MixedOriginal Setting)

    Documents of different sizes can be loaded together

    into the ADF to be fed and scanned one by one

    automatically.

    1 Slide the adjustable document guides to fit thesize of the largest page.

    If large-sized documents are to be loaded, pullout the document support.

    This section contains information on the general

    operation for making copies.

    The following procedure describes how to copy a

    single-sided document using basic copy operations.

    To make a copy

    according to the document size (Auto Paper Select

    The size of the loaded document is detected, and

    automatically selected.

    The zoom ratio can be set in order to make a copy on

    paper with a size different than the document or to

    enlarge or reduce the size of the copy image.

    The zoom ratio can be specified in any of the following

    recalled to be used when desired.

    Various settings are available for sorting and finishing

    copies when they are fed into the copy output tray.

    The following Finishing settings are available.

    - Sort- Group- Offset- Corner Staple- 2 Staples- 2/3-Hole Punch

    If no finisher is installed and the following conditions

    are met, printed copies can be fed out and sorted in an

    alternating crisscross pattern.

    - 8-1/2 11- or 5-1/2 8-1/2-size paper is used.- Paper of the same size and type is loaded with thew

    orientation in one paper drawer and with the vorientation in another drawer.- The Auto Paper Select setting is selected.- The Mixed Original setting is not selected.- If Offset is selected while a finisher is installed,

    printed copies are fed out and stacked on top of

    each other with each set shifted to separate it.

    Non-standard-sized paper can be loaded into the 1st

    drawer or the bypass tray.

    If non-standard-sized paper is loaded, it will be

    necessary to enter the paper size.

    size of non-standard paper loaded into the 1st drawer.

    In order to specify a Custom Size setting in Enlarge

    Display mode, a custom paper size must first be stored

    To select a setting for oversized paper (Oversized

    Paper settings)

    Oversized paper can be loaded into the 1st drawer or

    the bypass tray.

    Oversized paper is a size larger than the standard size

    and allows copies of standard-sized documents to be

    printed so that there is no loss at the edges. For

    example, if 11 17 oversized paper is used, an area up

    to 12-1/4 in. 18 in. can be printed, allowing the entirearea of an 11 17-size document to be printed.

    If oversized paper is loaded, it will be necessary to

    enter the paper size.

    The following procedure describes how to specify the

    setting for oversized paper loaded into the 1st drawer.

    If a setting for special paper, such as overhead

    projector transparencies and other special paper, is

    selected for a paper drawer, that drawer is not selectedautomatically with the Auto Paper Select setting or

    However, a paper drawer set to Single Side Only is

    given priority when the Auto Paper Select setting is

    specified.

    corresponding paper type, otherwise a paper misfeed
