Biographies

Jamie Jordan A soprano praised for her “alluring clarity” (New York Times), Jamie Jordan is a sought after interpreter of contemporary classical music. As a soloist and chamber musician she has performed for the Brooklyn Philharmonic’s chamber series; Bruno Walter Auditorium in the New Public Library for the Performing Arts; Stern Auditorium in Carnegie Hall; The Harvard Club; Miller Theatre and Symphony Space. She has also sung on several occasions for the pre-concert lectures of the New York Philharmonic. Ms. Jordan has been a guest artist at Cornell, Eastman, Ithaca, University of Maryland, SUNY Fredonia, University of Wisconsin Stevens Point and the University of South Florida in Tampa. She has held a fellowship with Bang on a Can and recently performed as a guest artist with Ensemble Signal at the June in Buffalo festival. For further information please visit Jamie’s website: www.jamiejordansings.com Calvin Falwell Praised for his "great skill and captivating sound" by Clariperu, American clarinetist Calvin Falwell enjoys a varied career as an orchestral musician, soloist and educator. Calvin is a member of the Artist Faculty of the University of South Florida School of Music and is a member of the Sarasota Opera Orchestra in Sarasota, FL. During the summer months he can be found performing with the Ash Lawn Opera Festival in Charlottesville, VA. Solo appearances have included recitals in South America, China, Europe and the US. Calvin is both a Selmer Paris and Rico Performing Artist, performing on Selmer Clarinets and Rico Reeds exclusively. Corey Holt Merenda Corey Holt Merenda has performed and recorded a wide variety of 20th and 21st century piano works, several written specifically for her, and has performed on over two-dozen recordings, both classical and pop. American Record Guide declared her playing “intelligent and athletic” in review of her CD, Unmistakably Modern, featuring music for solo piano, piano with electronics and piano with percussion ensemble. Ms. Merenda served as Vice-President of the Bonk Festival of New Music and was a core performer at this festival for over 15 years. She has been a member of the Confluences trio (trumpet, trombone, piano) since 2002.

It will feature two works by Anthony Iannaccone; Scherzo and Sea Drift, along with Vincent Persichetti’s masterwork, Masquerade. Other works to be included on the program will be listed on the USF Bands website.
