Current Projects AIR700Construction of facilities and infrastructure to support AIR7000 Phase 2B at RAAF Base Darwin for the Department of Defence. These works will be undertaken in preparation for a transition to Boeing P‐8A aircraft by the RAAF, and include:
• An extension to the military hard stand• New apron hardstand• New fuel hydrant line extension• New aircraft rinse facility
• New and relocated floodlighting towers• Flexible and rigid pavements• Aeronautical ground lighting• Below ground services and infrastructure
USFPI AccommodationConstruction of accommodation at RAAF Base Darwin for MRF‐D personnel. The proposed solution to achieve this outcome is the provision of modular (demountable) accommodation to create an MRF‐D residential area at RAAF Base Darwin for up to 500 personnel.
USFPI NT TA&R Project Objectives
• Provide infrastructure essential to support the increased tempo and/or range of activities at the training areas with the joint use by ADF and US forces;
• Enhance training outcomes through flexible training areas incorporating existing and new ADF weapon types and ammunition as well as allowing training in‐line with the Combat Marksmanship Continuum and future technology advances;
• Support increased demand for the training areas, in particular from the Marine Rotational Force – Darwin (MRF‐D); and
• Improve reliable access to fit‐for‐purpose TA&R
