Using Cerner Mobile Apps
Summary
● After the desired apps have been downloaded, open one of the apps and enter an access code.
Once the access code has been entered for one app, any other apps will be active for use as well.
● The apps will lock after being idle for a period of time. Users can set a PIN for all the apps that can
be used instead of entering the username and password.
PowerChart Touch
● PC Touch is a mobile version of the patient chart. Clinicians can review patient results and
documents, create and sign dyn doc notes, and manage single orders.
The patient chart can be selected from a clinic
schedule, an existing COMPASS patient list, or by a
patient search. After selecting a patient, users will
establish a relationship if one does not already exist.
The patient chart opens to the Review page. This
page is a mobile version of Provider View. Clinicians
can review documents, view vital signs, lab results,
imaging reports and other clinical data. Like Provider
View, clinicians can also create the HPI, Review of
Systems, Physical Exam, and Assessment/Plan to
include in a DynDoc note.
NOTE: Clinicians using an Apple device will
be able to dictate in text fields using
Nuance/Dragon
For vital signs and labs, the most recent results are
displayed on the main page. Items with a caret on the
right have additional information that can be viewed
by clicking on the row.
Clicking on the bar graph for I&O will show detailed
information
A problem or diagnosis can be added from the app,
but will be created as Patient Stated and would need
to be modified from the desktop. It is recommended
to only view problems and diagnoses from the app.
Click the menu icon to switch to other pages,
update/set pin, or log out.
Active and Inactive orders can be viewed on the
Orders page. Click the plus sign to add single orders.
The inbox will change colors and display a count of
orders to be signed.
Click on an order to view order information and to
cancel/discontinue an order.
Notes can be created from the Documents page using
DynDoc templates.
NOTE: Some highly customized templates
will not function fully on the mobile app.
These notes can be started in the app, saved,
and then completed and signed on the
desktop.
NOTE: Clinicians using Apple devices will
have access to Nuance/Dragon and their
existing macros/templates. Android users
can use the system microphone to dictate, but
will not have macros or templates.
Click on the banner bar to display additional patient
information
Click the search icon to return to the patient selection
screen
