GhostCast server

• GhostCast server is a utility of the Symantec Ghost software. Using GhostCast server you can create images of computers in the network or you can restore an image to several connected clients at the same time.

At the server computer:The server computer is the computer at which you run GhostCast Server. 1. Run the GhostCast Server. 2. The GhostCast Server

window will open. In this case, we will be restoring an image onto a client computer.

3. Type a name for this session in the Session Name box.

choose the image file and Click open.

session is now ready for clients to connect.

6. Once you connect the client or clients, Click Send

Connecting the Client Computer to a Session

This process is the same for Image Restoration and Creation.

• At the client computer:1. Turn the system on and press F12,

this will bring up the Startup/Boot Menu. Insert Hiren’s Boot CD

2. Choose CD ROM Drive from the Startup/Boot Menu .

3. Choose Mini windows XP.

• At the client computer:4. Open HBCD Menu.5. Select menu→ Backup

→Ghost32*.6. the Ghost GUI opens, Click

OK.

• At the client computer:7. Click Ghostcast, then on the following menu, Click Multicast.

At the client computer:8. The GhostCast

session dialogue box opens, Enter Session name, which you chose . Leave the Discovery Method on Automatic, Click OK.

At the client computer:9. Select the Destination Drive and Click OK.

At the client computer:10. The next menu shows you the Destination drive

details (you can determine the new size), Click OK.

At the client computer:11. The Question dialogue

box appears asking if you want to proceed with the restore. Click Yes.

12. The image will now be restored on the system. Upon completion, a dialogue box will appear, Click Reset Computer.

BIOS Passwords

• IF you forget your BIOS password – You can't enter into CMOS setup, if you have

forgot the password. There is no way to find the password again. But, you can remove the BIOS password using some utilities or some other ways. 1. Remove CMOS battery and insert it again after some

time. 2. Change the CMOS jumper settings.
