OBA launches with TechFuture Academy

“Employers will be able to set industry relevant challenges and badge the recognised skills to further employability skills, with employer reference on the badge showing the company support. This will enable young people to develop their employability skills recognised by employers”

Type1:ParticipationBadgeThese badges recognise participation at an event or activity. You can issue them for all attendees to claim or you can requestpeople ‘earn’ their badges through integrating them into your activities or adding interactive tasks for earner’s to completefollowing your event.

Valueproposition

Whybotherearningthisbadge?

Whatopportunitiesdoesitunlock?

Earner: Participate badges capture the learning that happens outside formallearning environments. These badges help people connect with other earners whohave participated in the same event or activity. This helps build connections andopen opportunities for earner ’s to engage further with a community.Issuer: Participate badges can help consolidate learning. They acknowledge allparticipants contribution and help them feel valued through receiving your badge.Participate badges enable issuers to track participants engagement with an eventor activity. Once the badge has been earned - this provides a great opportunity tostay connected with your participants.

Skillsandknowledge

Whatskillsdoesthisbadgerepresent?

The skills ‘participate’ badges represent reflect the event or activity the badge hasbeen earned for. The badge can be designed to include tasks which requireearner ’s to consider what they have taken away from their experience. Participatebadges are often used to recognise behavioural attributes that are desirable inearners, including motivation and commitment, recognised through the successfulcompletion of an event or activity.

Criteria

Whatdoyouneedtodotoearnthebadge?

Doesitexpire?

To earn a participate badge, earners would need to attend and participate in aspecified event or activity. Badges criteria can be based purely on attendance ordesigned with interactive tasks. Proactive tasks could include uploading evidenceof participation to help earners capture their experience. Reflective tasks couldhelp consolidate learning gained through an event or activity.

Behaviours

Whatbehaviourdoesthebadgeencourage?

A participate badge helps earner ’s feel valued through the work they havecompleted at an event or during an activity. This positive affirmation helps to buildself-esteem and confidence for earners. A participate badge can help motivatepeople to attend events or participate in activities if it is seen to connect to otheropportunities. Through acknowledgement of ‘active’ participation earners areincentivized to remain motivated and continue to seek new learning and earningopportunities.
