Collaborating with Dialogue

Using Sample Characters

With your shoulder partner…

On one sheet of lined paper for your pair, write a dialogue involving the characters.

Take turns writing in response to each other.

Be sure to take on the role of the character

Here is an example… FLIGHT ATTENDANT AND PASSENGER

FA: “Excuse me ma’am, can you stop shouting? P: No! You people need to find me a pillow, or I’ll

show you shouting!!!” FA: “Ma’am, if you do not stop shouting we will

escort you off the plane at our next stop. You need to be considerate of other passengers.”

P: “I don’t NEED to do anything. YOU NEED to find me a pillow! I’ve been on this flight for ten hours, and haven’t been able to sleep even for a minute!”

FA: “I will gladly find you a pillow if you agree to calm down and refrain from shouting.”

P: “AHHH!!!!!!”

Dialogue Activity Requirements

Your dialogue must fill an entire sheet of college-ruled paper without skipping any lines.

Each person must write from their own character’s perspective.
