Installing the Device Handler

1. Log in to the Smar th ings deve loper por ta l (h t tps : //graph .ap i .smar t th ings .com/) I f you do not have an account , reg is te r by fo l lowing the l ink on the page .

2 . C l ick “My Dev ice Hand lers” in the nav igat ion bar ( f ig . 1 ) .

3 . Press “Create New Dev ice Hand ler ” ( f ig . 2 ) .

4 . C l ick the “From Code” tab ( f ig . 3 ) .

5 . Open a new tab , v is i t https://raw.githubusercontent.

com/krlaframboise/SmartThings/master/devicetypes/krlaframboise/

dome-water-shut-off.src/dome-water-shut-off.groovy and copy ALL of the tex t .

6 . Paste the cop ied code in to the tex t box , and c l ick “Create” ( f ig . 3 ) .

7 . Now c l ick “Save” ( f ig .4) .

8 . F ina l l y pub l ish i t fo r yourse l f ( f ig . 5 ) .

9 . Now add the Water Main Shut -Of f to your Smar tTh ings system. V is i t www.domeha.com/ for fu r ther ins ta l la t ion and set -up

Note: You should only add the Water Main Shut-Off to SmartThings AFTER the Device Handler is created. If you already added the device, remove it and add it again into your system, and the Water Main Shut-Off will automatically detect the Device Handler. Figure 4

Shut Off Your Water Main When Leaks are Detected!

1. Open the Smar tTh ings app and go to the Dashboard tab ( f ig . 1 ) .

2 . Press the Gear icon in the top r ight corner and tap “Leak” in the l i s t that appears ( f ig . 2 ) .

3 . Togg le of f “Use every Leak detector ” ( f ig . 3 ) to choose spec i f ic Leak Detectors that w i l l shut o f f the water (o r every detector w i l l do so . )

4 . Tap “Water sensors” ,choose which sen-sors you want to moni tor ( f ig . 4 ) , and tap Done.

5 . Scro l l down and tap “C lose Va lves” ( f ig . 5 ) .

6 . Tap “Se lect Va lves ,” then choose your Wa-te r Main Shut -Of f ( f ig . 6 ) .

7 . To f in ish , tap “Done” on a l l the fo l lowing screens unt i l you re turn to the home screen .

Automatically Cycle Your Valve So it Doesn’t get Stuck!

1. Open the Smar tTh ings app , go to the Smar tApps tab wi th in the Automat ion tab , and tap “Add a Smar tApp” ( f ig . 1 ) .

2 . Tap “L ights & Swi tches” and se lect “Smar t L ights” f rom the l i s t ( f ig . 2 ) .

3 . Tap “Which l ights do you want to cont ro l? ” ( f ig . 3 ) , choose your Water Main Shut -Of f , and tap Done.

4 . Tap “What do you want i t to do?” ( f ig . 4 ) , se lect “Turn Of f ” , and tap Done.

5 . Tap “Se lect t r igger ” ( f ig . 4 ) , sc ro l l down , and se lect “At a Spec i f ic T ime” .

6 . Tap “Turn of f a t ” and set i t to a t ime where you wi l l not need water, fo r example when you are s leep ing or a t work ( f ig . 5 ) .

7 . Now tap “A lso tu rn on a t ” ( f ig . 5 ) and set i t to one minute af te r the f i rs t t ime.

8 . Tap “More Opt ions” , tap “On ly on cer ta in days of the week” , and choose the day you want the va lve to cyc le ( f ig . 6 ) .

9 . Tap “Next ” in the top corner.

10 . Name your automat ion tap Done to f in -ish .
