Using the Projector and Mimio Setting up the projector 1. Connect (VGA) cable to projector’s video in connection 2. Connect (VGA) cable to computer’s video out connection 3. On IBM laptop press + On Student laptop press + Twice 4. From the menu that pops up select the second option “My Display and Projector 1024x768 Note: on older laptops the menu wont come up it will just switch the laptops mode same with the student laptops. 5. The projector should then display what’s on the laptop Tip: when playing a DVD from your laptop the video will only play on the projector not your screen, so you will have a blank box where the movie should be on your laptop display. Setting up the Mimio board (Interactive mode) Interactive mode is used to interact with your laptop from the white board 1. Make sure that the wireless component is plugged into the Mimio stick. 2. Plug the wireless box into your laptop’s USB connection. 3. Place the Mimio stick on whiteboard to the left hand side of the projection. about 2” from the top of the board and 2” from the projection. 4. Turn on the Mimio stick. 5. Press the calibrate button (last button) on the Mimio stick. 6. Use the mouse pen to tap in the middle of the (x). Tip: make sure that there are batteries in the Mimio pens, when the top of the pen it pressed it should buzz. Setting up the Mimio board (recording mode) Recording mode is used to capture anything written on the white board 1. Make sure that the wired component is plugged into the Mimio stick 2. Place Mimio stick on the left hand side of the whiteboard. 3. Turn on Mimio stick. 4. Use Mimio pen anywhere on the white board. 5. When you have filled up the whiteboard or want to work on something new press the new page button (the first button) then rub off the writing. 6. When erasing mistakes use the Mimio rubber to erase the digital copy of the writing. 7. When done using the whiteboard plug the Mimio stick into a computer using USB connection open up Mimio notepad and the work will be put into the program. IMPORTANT: DO NOT TURN OFF THE MIMIO STICK OTHERWISE ALL DATA SAVED TO IT WILL BE LOSED. Fn F7 Fn F3

Setting up the projector
