Page 13: Using the Rapid Test Kit Slide Set 3. Quickvue Rapid Influenza A and B Test Allows for rapid, qualitative detection of influenza type A and type B antigens

The Rapid Test StripQuick reference guide section: This section of the test strip shows the tester how to read the results. The blue line in the middle is the control (CCC).A red line above the blue line means the test strip is positive for Influenza A (AAA).A red line below the blue line means the test strip is positive for Influenza B (BBB).

This section of the test strip is where the patient results will appear.

Example of Positive Rapid Test for Influenza A

Blue (control) line

Red line above the blue (control) line

This rapid test strip shows the blue control line and a red line above the control line.

This would be considered a positive rapid test for Influenza A.

Example of Positive Rapid Test for Influenza B

Red line below the blue (control) line Blue (control) line

This rapid test strip shows the blue control line and a red line below the control line.

This would be considered a positive rapid test for Influenza B.

Example of Negative Rapid Influenza Test

Blue (control) line

This rapid test strip shows the blue control line but no red lines.

This would be considered a negative rapid test for Influenza.
