What is ?• It is a social networking tool that allows you to collaborate
and communicate in groups• Similar functionality to Facebook and Twitter• Can be accessed on web, desk top app, phone or through
Sharepoint• Is part of Office 360 – and is being piloted at QAA• Access controlled• Networks can be internal or external• Groups can be closed or open
Why should you use it?• An opportunity to communicate beyond F2F meetings –
travel cost savings • A way to build your community and improve relationships
with colleagues• A space in which to collaborate on work and cut project
time – especially if you have clear goals• A chance to share problems and receive direct help• A record of your discussions that can be organised and
easily searched

What next?• Make sure you are signed up and signed in• Have a think about how you want to use the group –
set a goal and a timeline• Task yourselves with starting and continuing
discussion• Assign responsibilities – maybe have a rota• Start using the ‘Notes’ to create shared documents• Pass your Yammer skills on – help newbies• Try the Yammer phone app - very user friendly and
gives real time updates
