Rather than follow fashion trends, USM Modular Furniture has cultivated its own sense of rigour and sustainability, two inherent values dear to its practice. The USM system comprises of a chrome-plated brass ball joint, chromed steel tubes which connect to the ball forming a stable framework and powder coated metal panels mounted between the tubes. The basic construction allows for infinte design possibiliies and since its launch as a brand in 1965 more and more clients, architects and designers are seduced by its basic aesthetic and ultra functionality.

Fifty years on, USM Modular Furniture has become a design classic.The product continues to perfect itself with the strength of its 100% Swiss manufacturing processes. It remains to inspire new interiors around the world.

In 2011 USM entered into a business cooperation to offer airports the combination of a product that fulfills the diversified demand of the user with the vision of planners and architects. USM Airportsystems has meanwhile completed projects for more than 15 airports and national airport authorities world-wide.

Modularity - if the space, situationor desired use of the unit changes,the modules can be disassembledand reconstructed.

Sustainabilty - the longer a productcan be used, the more economical itis and the less impact it has on theenvironment.USM Modular Furniture was the firstcompany in Europe to achieve theGreenguard certificate allowing it toqualify for LEED rating.

Robust - steel panels combined witha virtually indestructible polishedchrome frame.

Flexibility - units can be dismantledand reconfigured at any time. They can be organized individually,extended using new elements orcombined with parts from decades ago without a visible difference. If ascanner is updated only one panelneeds replacing.

No fire load - confirmed by BuildingMaterial Test Certificate B1.

Cost and time efficiency with lowmaintenance costs - alterations orrebuilding can be undertaken on siteand by the owners themselves.

Versatility - the steel panels canbe replaced by wood, HPL, stone orglass.
