UT  Quest  Online  Homework  Service    

This  year,  all  physics  student  at  RHS  will  have  online  homework  through  the  University  of  Texas  Quest  online  homework  service.    To  have  access  to  Quest,  each  student  must  obtain  a  University  of  Texas  Electronic  Identification  Number,  UT  EID.    If  your  teenager  has  ever  made  contact  with  UT,  she/he  may  already  have  a  UT  EID.    To  register  for  the  Quest  online  service,  please  go  to  https://quest.cns.utexas.edu/.      

   From  this  screen,  click  on  the  “Get  Started  button.  This  will  direct  you  to  the  following  screen.  

If  you  have  a  UT  EID  and  remember  your  password,  proceed  with  this  page.  If  you  do  not  know  if  you  have  a  UT  EID  or  need  to  obtain  a  UT  EID,  click  on  the  “I  need  a  UT  EID”  link.  This  will  take  you  to  the  next  screen.    On  the  next  screen  please  select  continue.      

   Answer  the  questions  on  this  page  and  continue.                

Answer  all  the  questions  on  this  page  except  for  “UT  Austin  ID  Card  Number.”  Please  include  your  email  address.    This  is  extremely  important  if  a  student  forgets  his  or  her  password  and  is  locked  out  of  Quest.    The  email  address  also  allows  me  to  send  you  announcements  about  any  changes  to  the  homework  assignment  through  the  homework  service.  Select  continue.              

           

   Answer  these  security  questions  and  select  continue.                            

   

   From  this  screen  select  your  memorable  password  that  conforms  to  the  listed  requirements.  Select  continue.                        

   

The  bottom  of  the  next  page  will  look  like  this.    The  top  portion  of  this  page  will  give  you  your  identifying  information.      

 Make  any  changes  as  needed.    When  you  have  all  the  information  complete,  select  the  “Create  My  UT  EID”  button.      

This  page  contains  your  UT  EID.    

     

When  you  have  your  UT  EID  return  to  the  Quest  home  page  at  https://quest.cns.utexas.edu/  and  click  on  “Get  Started.”        

   Now,  enter  your  UT  EID  and  password  and  click  “Login.”                      

 The  first  time  you  login  on  to  Quest,  you  will  get  this  “terms  of  use  page.”  Click  “I  Agree.”  

           

 From  this  page,  select  “Enroll  in  Course.”  On  the  next  page,  you  will  enter  your  course  code.    The  class  code  begins  with  my  room  number  3705.  The  next  digit  is  0,  zero.  Next  is  your  class  period.

When  you  enter  the  appropriate  code,  other  indentifying  information  will  be  shown  for  your  class  similar  to  the  information  to  the  left.    Select  the  “Request  Enrollment”  button.  

 This  is  the  final  screen.    Before  you  can  begin  working  on  your  online  Quest  assignment,  I  must  process  your  enrollment  request.
