Hello Parents

We have had a very busy summer and it is not even over, just starting! Our national assessment will be

held this month at both sites. I will let the parents know how well the sites did when I receive the results. I

am sure they will be high scores as usual.

We also do our floor waxing, “spring cleaning” and most of our student workers are off for the summer and

not back until August. So, as you can see at your drop off and pick up’s we are a little more busy then oth-

er months. But with the staff we have at the Center the children never notice the “extra” going on in the

rooms.

Thanks to all the parents that help out during these times as well. We appreciate all the help and support.

As always, let me know if you have any questions.

UTC Children’s Center Teacher Feature

By: Toya Cobb

Mrs. Hilda Lindsey, Preschool

Mrs. Hilda began working at the Children’s Center in May of 2010. She has been in the profession for

over 40 years! If you know Ms. Hilda at all, you know it was a struggle to get any information out of

her for this interview because she does not like being in the spotlight. However, she truly deserves

recognition for her hard work and dedication to the Center.

Ms. Hilda is a team player who willingly goes the extra mile on the job. When I asked Mrs. Hilda what

she enjoys about teaching, she said she just loves her children. They keep her young! She stated, “I

believe that children are the most valuable jewels that God has entrusted to us. It is our responsibility

to serve as positive role models who make an impact in their lives.” She has carried this philosophy

with her throughout her career of teaching and being a center director as well.

In her spare time, Mrs. Hilda enjoys bowling, reading and spending quality time with her family. She also considers her coworkers as family and enjoys working with the Battle team.

Mrs. Hilda, thanks for all you do to for the children, families and staff at the Center. You truly are a

gem!

Dear Infant Parents,

about different nursery rhymes and doing various activities associated with them.

Important reminders

July 7th the floors with be cleaned; all furniture must be moved out.

July 10th Moving furniture back in.

Any parents that are able or would like to help please ask the classroom

teachers.

July 19th 3-Stars Assessment.

Good Housekeeping:

Please remember to wear your shoecovers when entering to classroom. Please wash your

hands and your child’s hands upon entering the class-

room and please be sure to label all of your children’s

items.

Thank you for being such wonderful parents!

Dear Parents,

We had a fun month exploring oceans and the things that

live in them. This month we will be introducing Fireworks,

Flags, and Camping. During the camping unit we may

have a visit from a friend (my dad;) with a travel camper

and camping paraphernalia for the children to explore. I’ll

have more details at a future date. We will have tents,

sleeping bags, flashlights, “logs and campfires”, lanterns,

and camp chairs set up in the room. This might be a good

time to set up play tents in your own home/playrooms/

backyards. We will take nature walks, “roast” marshmallows,

eat some s’mores, and try roasted hotdogs. (I’ll be getting or-

ganic chicken or turkey dogs for this activity;0)

Have a great month,

Dear Parents,

For the month of July,

the Older Toddlers

will be learning all

about summer. We

will discuss nature,

animals, changes in

the weather, and go-

ing on vacation.

Mostly, we will focus

on going to the

beach, going camp-

ing and going to the

park. The Older Tod-

dlers will get to enjoy

nature by going on

walks and going to

the “park” right out-

side our school. We

ask that parents

bring in any pictures

of their families on

vacation or enjoying

a day in the park so

that we can display

these in the class-

room.

The Older Toddlers

are also working on

their self-help skills.

So please remember

that as you help

dress your child in

the morning, simple

clothes are better!!

As always, please re-

Toddler 1

Hello Toddler-One Families,

It is officially SUMMER! In T1 we are gearing up for a few water-day activities in July.

We will have Outside Water-Play Days on July 3, 7, 11 and July 13. These dates are post-

ed outside of our classroom for your convenience. We will also send reminders on the

daily sheets. Please help us by sending in the requested items for Outside Water-Play

Days. In addition to special water play days, we will focus on America’s Birthday as well

as focus on shapes color and explore a beach and ocean theme.

As we welcome SUMMER, T1 would like to officially welcome to our classroom, Calvin

McCarragher-Given, Ellie Parrish, Eloise Baker, Henry Eberle and Josie Leahy. They all

joined us on last month and are making great strides adjusting to the very busy and on the

MOVE environment. We said Goodbye to a few friends as well on last month. Avery

McMillian, William Rives, Rosalia Mansuseto, Kylie Griffin and Lucas Hassler all transi-

tioned to Toddler-Two and are doing very well!

We would like to thank you all for giving us the opportunity to learn and grow with your

children. Please let us know, if you have any questions or concerns.

Hello Infant Parents,

We have lots of fun

planned for the month of

July! As we discover

what summer is all about,

we will enjoy exploring

outside. Please be sure to

dress each infant in

weather appropriate attire.

We are so excited about

the arrival of our new

last month and we are

happy she is here with us!

As a friendly reminder,

please either wear only

socks or shoe covers

when you enter the room.

Secondly, please be sure

to wash your hands and

your child's hands with

soap and water upon arri-

val. Lastly, please make

sure to label each of your

child’s food items with

his or her full name. Fol-

lowing these few simple

steps goes a long way in

helping us to keep the

room as clean as possible

for your precious little

ones.

Please note the follow-

ing important dates for

the month of Ju-

ly: Tuesday, July 4th the

Center is closed for Inde-

Dear Preschool 2 Parents,

June has been a fun month as we talked about Water, Camping, and America. Thank

you to everyone who came to our Independence Party! The children were so excited

to show you their patriotic performance of “Yankee Doodle”, and I couldn’t be

prouder of them!

July will bring us to the Deep Blue as we learn about the Ocean, the beach, and ma-

rine animals. We will also review our Alphabet with an island twist in “Chicka Chicka

Boom Boom”.

Just to let you know the school will be waxing floors the weekend of the 14th. So

that you are not surprise to see us moving things out, or an empty classroom on

that Friday’s pick-up.

UTCCC will be closed Tuesday, July 4th for Independence Day. I hope everyone has

a Happy Fourth of July!

Just a reminder- to wash hands (yours and your child’s) upon entering the class-

room, even if they have washed in another classroom. Thank you

for your help on this!
