Important Usage Note - UTCHEM 9.31

If you want to generate Kraken-compatible output files with UTCHEM 9.31, you need to modifythe value of the IOUTGMS flag. IOUTGMS is defined on input line 3.2.1 of the UTCHEMUser's Guide. The definition has been modified as follows for 9.31:

IOUTGMS - Flag indicating whether or not Ground Water Modeling System (GMS) orKraken files will be created.Possible Values:

0 - GMS and Kraken files will not be created1 - GMS files will be created2 - Kraken files will be created

Note: IOUTGMS should be set to 0 unless you want to create GMS-compatible orKraken-compatible output files.

We stress: if you want to generate Kraken-compatible output files, you MUST set the value ofthe IOUTGMS flag equal to 2 in your INPUT file.

And, finally, we realize that the version numbers may be a bit confusing to users, so here aresome notes about the version numbers you might encounter:

• UTCHEM-GUI 9.82 is the current version of the GUI front-end. The version ofUTCHEM used by the UTCHEM-GUI 9.82 program is UTCHEM 9.3.

• UTCHEM 9.3 is the current version of the UTCHEM simulator.

• UTCHEM 9.31 is identical in functionality to UTCHEM 9.3. The ONLY differencebetween 9.3 and 9.31 is that 9.31 generates Kraken-compatible output.
