GENERAL RULES For reference only and would be updated from time to time. 1. INTRODUCTION UTP Sports Carnival is organised annually by Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. It is a collaboratives sports event between Co-curriculum unit, Students’ Representative Council Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (SRCUTP) and UTP Sports Teams. 2. PARTICIPATION 2.1 All full-time students of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS are qualified to enter this tournament. 2.2 All participants are allowed to compete for their respective course only: 2.2.1 Mecahanical Engineering 2.2.2 Electrical & Electronic Engineering 2.2.3 Chemical Engineering 2.2.4 Civil Engineering 2.2.5 BIS & ICT (*combined) 2.2.6 Petroleum Engineering & Petroleum Geoscience (*combined) 2.3 All participants are allowed to enter 2 different games only. 2.4 All Participants are allowed to enter 2 different category in one games. 3. GENERAL RULES

For reference only and would be updated from time to time. 1. INTRODUCTION

UTP Sports Carnival is organised annually by Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. It is a

collaboratives sports event between Co-curriculum unit, Students’ Representative

Council Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (SRCUTP) and UTP Sports Teams.

2. PARTICIPATION

2.1 All full-time students of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS are qualified to enter

this tournament.

2.2 All participants are allowed to compete for their respective course only:

2.2.1 Mecahanical Engineering

2.2.2 Electrical & Electronic Engineering

2.2.3 Chemical Engineering

2.2.4 Civil Engineering

2.2.5 BIS & ICT (*combined)

2.2.6 Petroleum Engineering & Petroleum Geoscience (*combined)

2.3 All participants are allowed to enter 2 different games only.

2.4 All Participants are allowed to enter 2 different category in one games.

3. COMPLAINTS

3.1 JURIES

The members are the Program Manager or his/her representative, and 5 neutral

representatives. The referees and team’s manager also can be called.

3.2 DISCIPLINE ORGANIZATION

The members are :-

i - Head of Games Department

ii - Head of SSSD

iii - Program Manager or his/her representative

iv - Secretary

Quorum - the quorum for the discussion is two over three of the members

and the chairman can call for a vote if the result is draw.

3.3 SUSPENSION AND DISQUALIFICATION

In the event of fight between players, officials or supporters of participating

teams, the team that instigated the fight:

i. Will be fined RM 300

ii. Will be banned from the tournament

iii. Would be required to pay for the damage of facilities involved during the

fight

4. DRINKS

All teams are required to prepare their own drinks during the tournament. 5. PRIZES

5.1 Prizes will be provided to:

i. Champion, first runner up and second runner up in each games.

ii. Overall champion

5.2 Certicate may not be provided to all participants.

6. RULES AND REGULATIONS ENFOCREMENT

The committees of the tournament have the right to decide on any matter that has not

been stated in this rules and regulations and the decision is definitive.

*Organizer has the authority to change the game rules without prior notice or

agreement to participants.

7. DATES OF COMPETITIONS * Organizer has the authority to change the date of the competitions based on unforseen

circumstances or weather condition. 8. OPENING CEREMONY

All participants are compulsory to attend the Opening Ceremony of UTP Sports Carnival

on 11th June 2014 ( Proposed ).

9. CLOSING CEREMONY

All participants are compulsory to attend the closing ceremony of UTP Sports Carnival

on 22th June 2014 ( Proposed ).

10. APPLICATION DEADLINE

All participants are required to submit their application before 12am midnight of 4th

June 2014.

11. SYSTEM OF THE TOURNAMENT

11.1 Two top teams will be playing in the finals.

11.2 The game will be automatically cancelled if less than 3 teams are

competing.

11.3 Points system; win – 3, draw – 1, loss – 0. This rule ia official for every game.

11.4 For all games, points will be given as:

i. Champion - 20

ii. First runner up - 12

iii. Second runner up - 7

iv. Third runner up - 3

11.5 Team that withdraw during the tournament will be penalised for the referees

payment for the current and afterward games involving that team. The team will

be called by the Discipline Organization.

11.6 Team that quit and give free win to their opponent will be penalised for the

referees payment for that game. The team still can compete in the tournament.

12. OVERALL WINNER

Overall winner will be determined by :

12.1 The team that wins the most GOLD MEDALS will be the

winner.

12.2 If still draw, the team that wins the most SILVER MEDALS will be the winner.

12.3 If still draw, the team that wins the most BRONZE MEDALS

will be the winner.

13. COMPLAINTS

13.1 All complaints must be made in written forms (with RM 300.00 amount of fee)

and must be signed by the team manager. The form of complaints must be

submitted to the Games Coordinator 30 minutes after the game finished. The fee

will not be returned if the complaint is not approved by the juries. Juries’

decisions are definitive.

14. DELAY

14.1 If the weather or venues are in bad condition, the respective games will be

postponed to another specific time and will be discussed among the referees, the

committees and the participants. A new schedule will be posted on our facebook

page (UTP Sport Carnival 2014 ) as quick as possible.

14.2 When there is mutual consent of those involved, matches maybe rescheduled:

i. Informed 48 hours (2 days) before the match.

ii. provided they do not delay the advancement of the entire tournament.

15. COOPERATION

All teams are required to be at the venue of the respective games 15 minutes before the

games start.
