cities. Uttarakhand is an enticingly diverse state, with some of
India’s best trekking, yoga schools, holiday towns and wildlife-
watching all tucked into one little corner of the country.
GANGOTRIGangotri, the origin of the River Ganges and seat of the goddess Ganga.The river is called Bhagirathi at the source and acquires the name Ganga (the Ganges) from Devprayag onwards where it meets the Alaknanda. The origin of the holy river is at Gaumukh, set in the Gangotri Glacier, and is a 19 km trek from Gangotri.
YAMUNOTRIYamunotri (Hindi: यमुनोत्री) is the source of the Yamuna River and the seat of the Goddess Yamuna in Hinduism. It is situated at an
altitude of 3,293 metres (10,804 ft) in the Garhwal Himalayas.
KEDARNATHKedarnath and its temple exist from the Mahabharata era when the Pandavas are supposed to have pleased Lord Shiva by

BADRINATH
The Badrinath area is referred to as Badari or Badarikaashram (बदरि�काश्रम) in Hindu scriptures. It is a place sacred to
Vishnu, particularly in Vishnu's dual form of Nara-Narayana.
HARIDWARHaridwar is an ancient city and important Hindu pilgrimage site in North India's Uttarakhand state, where the River Ganges exits the Himalayan foothills. The largest of several sacred ghats (bathing steps), Har Ki Pauri hosts a nightly Ganga Aarti (river-worshipping ceremony) in which tiny flickering lamps are floated off the steps. Worshippers fill the city during major festivals including the annual Kanwar Mela.

The city is renowned as a center for studying yoga and meditation.

Capital of Uttrakhand also known as doon valley.
Also known as “Queen Of The Hills”, is a wonderful hill station. It is situated at a height of 2005 mts(6581 ft) .
