America which is a non-partisan, non-profit campaign to educate communities about the new healthinsurance options made available by the Affordable Care Act. The session will cover who is eligible, what services are covered, financial assistance and how to apply. The presentation will be shortlyafter service and will be about 20 minutes followed by an opportunity for questions from theparticipants. While we many of us may have great health insurance plans, we may have familyfriends or co-workers who are among the many millions of Americans currently without healthinsurance or who currently have inadequate insurance should they encounter any serious orprolonged health problem. Unwrapping the Inner Gifts of Christmas, a book by Rev. Dr. Tom Owen-Towle

Longtime UU minister the Rev. Dr. Tom Owen-Towle, has written a book, Unwrapping the Inner Giftsof Christmas, to help Unitarian Universalists navigate the celebration of the holiday period betweenThanksgiving and New Years.

Owen-Towle writes, Peddling Christmas as merely a holly, jolly affair diminishes the fullness of ourhumanity as well as the scope of the original gospel narratives. Heres the key: When we bravelyface, then embrace, the entire gamut of human emotions and experiences during December, werespiritually prepared to do so the rest of the year. We become whole persons whenever we willinglyconfront the whole of life.

He acknowledges that emotions during the holiday period run the gamut from sadness to joy. Thebook has twenty chapters devoted to different perspectives about the holidays. It is $15 from the UUABookstore.
