First Sundays Adult RE. In 2014, Bruce Allen is going to lead Adult RE from 9:45am to 10:40am on the first Sunday of each month in 2014. We will meet in our newly refurbished sofa room. We are go-ing to start by using Marcus Borg's “Meeting Jesus Again for the First Time” to consider the meaning of the life of Jesus of Nazareth (as understood from Dr. Borg's perspective on the historical Jesus, rather than from the perspective of the Christ of faith from a traditional Christian perspective). Of course, the goal of this venture is to see how a fresh perspective on Jesus relates to and possibly en-riches each of our unique UU faith journeys. If you have any questions, please email Bruce Allen at [email protected] .

Meals on Wheels: Every Wednesday and Friday. POC: Cheryl Foster, [email protected]

Do you have a smile to spare? UUFW is in need of greeters who can spend time in the foyer to the sanctuary on Sunday mornings once a month (or more often if you wish.) Contact Joe Cunningham ([email protected] ) or Kris Cervantes ([email protected] ) if you’re interested in serving our congregation in this very special way.

The Children & Youth Religious Education (and Fun) Team have a few announcements:

1.  Egg Hunt:  Please bring non-food/non-candy items to stuff our Easter eggs!  We have plastic eggs- please bring donations to fill them.  There will be a donation box in the foyer.  Thank you!The Egg Hunt will follow the Flower Communion/Easter Service on Sunday, April 20th.

2.  Children & Youth Spring Sleepover:  Friday, April 18th.  At least one parent of each child or youth must attend all night.  More details to come.  Contact:  Joy Hayes

3.  FYI:  Ronan Hayes-Gates is allergic to peanuts.  Please do not bring food or candy with peanuts or peanut butter to church on Sundays.  Thank you.

Also- many parents are trying to watch sugar consumption.  When you bring snacks on Sunday, please remember that fruit is a great snack too!  (And more healthy for everyone.)

4.  We will not have children or youth religious education on Sunday, April 20th.  Egg hunt and potluck lunch after the service.

Thank you!Joy Hayes, Religious Education [email protected]
