A Waldos Coffeehouse Event and Fundraiser: Water Wells and UU

Under this roof, a diverse crowd gathers, each of us on our own unique journey. Some seek to find theirconnection to that which is greater through art or music. Others may connect through a spiritual discipline orendeavor. Yet, others find their connection to that which is greater through Social Action. Whatever it is thatdraws us together, we all affirm to serve others in community. and sometimes those far outside ourcommunity, our world community.

Improving the lives of women and children is the best way to increase the quality of life in a village and in acountry. Due to our efforts in 2012, the small village of Dengolt, Ethiopia has clean water. This year, we set outto do it again. Working with Water To Thrive, UUFW will break ground in another village in the same Tigreregion of Africa. Providing fresh drinking water for a village allows the girls of the tribe to attend school, and thepotential of water-borne diseases is drastically reduced.

    On October 4th

, Waldos Coffeehouse will kick off our 2013 Water Well Fund Drive with a fantastic live musicline-up. Mark your calendars for an opportunity to make a change for the better, right around the corner in avillage in Africa.
