Speaker 1

Jonathan Easton Creative Director, GlobalSign

Prior to joining GlobalSign. In (GS), Jonathan, was a lecturer in Multimedia Design for Curtin University.

And ever since Jonathan has joined GSI, he has been pretty much the driving force behind the

company’s design works, winning GSI multiple awards for websites and digital works that have been

created over time.

!Today, Jonathan is GSI’s Creative Director, and he leads and drives the UX / design team. Having worked

with many types of clients, ranging from Government agencies, ministries, MNCs to Art Galleries,

Jonathan is very versatile in his design choices. He has got the rare talent of being able to create very

corporate, but yet stylish designs and on the other extreme very abstract digital creations.

Introduction  to  UX  Library

A  platform  initiated  from  the  UX  community  to  help  our  local  practitioners  to  gain  and  exchange  knowledge  with  each  other.    One  of  the  ways  is  to  facilitate  book  exchanges  or  sharing  the  essence  of  book  learnings.

Design  Principles

1. Traceability 2. Shareability

3. Accessibility 4. Discoverability

Page 23: Uxsg meetup #10

Traceability

Establish  Guidelines  1. Has  a  Facebook  account  and  be  transparent  in  terms  of  pro@ile  2. Those  who  did  not  return  the  books  borrowed  will  be  banned  from  the  community  ‣ Publicise  and  announce  at  the  UXSG  Facebook  page

3. Books  that  are  lost  will  have  to  be  replaced  with  the  same  book  by  the  borrower  4. Labels  will  be  pasted  on  every  book  to  indicate  which  ‘library’  it  belongs  to

Transparency  in  Facebook  proLile Labels  on  where  the  book  belongs

Page 24: Uxsg meetup #10

Shareability

1. Borrowers  could  take  advantage  of  social  media  platforms  (e.g  UXSG  Facebook  page)  to  share  on  his/her  knowledge  gained    ‣ Able  to  get  a  chance  to  network  with  people  who  have  read  the  same  book  and  share  their  respective  experiences

2. Mentoring  would  not  be  an  obligation  but  borrowers  could  ask  for  advice  from  librarian  on  what  are  the  recommended  books  to  read  based  on  what  he/she  wants  to  learn

Page 25: Uxsg meetup #10

Accessibility

1. Whoever  wishes  to  be  a  librarian,  should  not  be  in  a  central  pro@ile  2. ‘UX  Library’  will  be  at  the  company’s  of@ice  therefore  borrowers  who  wish  to  borrow  and  return  a  book  will  have  to  head  down  to  the  respective  company’s  of@ice

3. Alternatively,  if  the  book  is  currently  ‘on  loan’,  the  borrower  may  meet  the  previous  borrower  to  collect  the  book  halfway  instead  of  having  to  wait  for  him/her  to  return  it  to  the  ‘library’

Page 26: Uxsg meetup #10

Discoverability

1. Social  network  promotions  2. Sharing  of  experience  from  the  3  different  type  of  users  (Librarian,  Borrower,  ‘Book  Contributor’)  through  meet-‐ups
