Beauty and the Beast

Being Carried Away is Maurice (Lawrence Gross) by two of the bar boys (Matt Boles and Cameron Knight). In the tavern scene; Maurice tells of a hideous beast that took his daughter Belle, as a result, they throw him into the forest.

"Tale as Old as Time..." This is the scene where the musical's story turns romantic for Belle (Elizabeth Whitehead) and the Beast (An drew Boughner). The two spent many practice: perfecting how many spins Belle had to do.

eauty and the Beast is the story of a spoiled prince who must learn from his mistakes after he is

transformed into a hideous beast and all his servants into inanimate objects. He meets a beautiful bookworm who teaches him how to love, as one of every young girl's favorite Disney movies is reinvented for the stage. The play's cast was full of movers and shakers, ready to dance the night away on stage as cutlery or a fierce beast. The costumes were some of the silliest and most inventive of the high school's musicals. Characters like Mrs. Potts is played by Jackie Cosan and a champagne bottle played by Cameron Knight were some of the favorites. No one can forget about the star, the Beast, played by Andrew Boughner who had to stop shaving his face since he was casted as the Beast in November. Most seniors, who participated in the musicals throughout their high school years, dream of being a lead in a musical as popular as Beauty and the Beast. This year, those lucky few included Andrew Boughner as the Beast, and Elizabeth Whitehead and Emily Hammer as Belle.

1 1 w 1 Swooning Over Gaston (David Burkholder) are

the Silly Girls, his number one admirers, and his best buddy LeFou (Matt Fox). The Silly Girls were Kayla Crawford. Arlena Tyree. Alyson Hill, and Ashley Jarrett.

Caring Mother is Mrs. Potts (Jackie Cosan) with her son Chip (Connor McKee). Though he wasn't new to the stage, he outsung many of the other cast members.

With Swift Moves the napkins wipe up the show in a fancy dance during "Be Our Guest." The nap­kins are Morgan Baumann, Paige Leslie, Jasmin Cotter, Amy Wilson, Alex Hinck, and Cristi Caleca.

Playing Hard to Get are Lumiere, the candlestick (Andrew Whipple) and Babette. the feather duster (Liz McBride). These two had a dif­ficult time trying to tango in their costumes.
