Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Information
Technology successfully hosted a two day technical fest on the
dates of 3rd and 4th of May 2019 in association with CS chapter of
IEEE SB ASIET, CSI, Adi Shankara Bootcamp, ICFOSS and Tinkerhub.
The two day fest consisted of different kinds of technical events
such as Workshops, Hackathons, Talks, Technical Quizzes as well as
fun events such as Technical Treasure hunts and Lan Gaming. The
workshops included a session on Introduction to Blockchain
handled by Prof. Sankara Nayaki K and Mr. Sreehari Vishnu(S6 IT),
and Blogging by Dr Manish T I. Several Workshops handled by our
Students of S6 are Blackhat Cybersecurity, Web Design with Google
Firebase, Adobe Photoshop and Working with Adobe Premiere Pro.
Students from various colleges in and around the State participated
in the events and prizes were awarded to the winners of the
Hackathons conducted at the end of each workshop. Kudos to the
Team Technovare'19 for making this maiden event a grand sucess.

Avinash KakAvinash C. Kak (also known as Avi Kak, born 1944) is a professor of Electrical and Computer
Engineering at Purdue University who has done pioneering research in several areas of
information processing. His most noteworthy contributions deal with algorithms, languages, and
systems related to networks (including sensor networks), robotics, and computer vision. Born
in Srinagar, Kashmir, he was educated at College of Engineering, Guindy and Indian Institute of
Technology Delhi. He joined the faculty of Purdue University in 1971. His brother is the computer
scientist Subhash Kak and sister the literary theorist Jaishree Odin.

The grand alumni meet for B.Tech,M.Tech and MBA on April 27th at our Auditorium. Staff coordinators fromCSE and IT department were Prof. Gripsy Paul, Prof. Sameera K M, Prof. Sonam Maju and Prof. RosemaryVarghese. Decennial Celebrations for first five B.Tech passout batches was held at Hotel Marriot, Kochi onMay 5th. The event was Coordinated Prof. Gripsy Paul, Prof. Sameera K M, Prof. Sonam Maju and Prof.Rosemary Varghese. Prof. Anaswara Jayan & Prof. Sankara Nayaki K were Master of Ceremonies for both theevents. Faculty and Student Volunteers from CSE & IT were instrumental in successful conduct of theseevents. Almost 150 CSE & IT Alumnus were in attendance.
