163,526 employees

─ UK CROs, lab equipment and services for research provide opportunities
for UK companies as Spain has a good reputation for R&D and clinical trials.

Opportunities in Spain?
― By 2050 Spain is expected to be the country in the world with the oldest
population. An ageing population means that in the medium to long-term
healthcare spending is likely to continue to rise. Opportunities for UK companies
includes provision to nursing homes and home-care products.
― Introduction of IT in the healthcare sector: new medical record processing,
electronic prescriptions, remote patient follow-up, interconnection between centres
and globalization. Telehealth and E-Health are becoming increasingly important in
