WelcomeWelcome to the Visitor Attractions Conference 2014.

As we come out of another summer, many attractions have the opportunity toreflect on how their season has been. More and more attractions still havesignificant parts of their season to experience including Halloween andChristmas. The ‘traditional’ holiday season has changed and this conference willreflect the different types of attractions that make up our industry.

During the early years of the ‘staycation’ it was felt that once prosperity returnedto the land, everyone would jet off to sunnier climates. It is possible that this yearhas seen the first year, for a while, that consumer confidence has returned. Earlyindications are that the attractions industry has stood up well against thetemptation to go abroad. There are many businesses who invested in theirproduct over the last few years and are now reaping the rewards.

I hope you enjoy the Conference this year and have the opportunity to learnfrom some of the success stories and be inspired by the individuals that make upthis fantastic industry.
