WHAT ARE THEY?
Sky lanterns (Chinese lanterns) originate from the Far East where
they were used as a signalling tool by the military
Light a Lantern is the largest supplier of Sky Lanterns to the
wholesale market in the UK
Our lanterns rise up to 1,000 feet into the sky
Once released the lanterns will illuminate the night sky
We supply lanterns in a variety of colours including traditional
Chinese white lanterns
Messages and wishes can be written on the lanterns prior to
release
They will travel up to 2 miles in distance – looking like a shooting
star or a UFO!

FAQ’S
What are they made from? They are made from tissue paper
and a bamboo rim. The fuel cell is made of a wax resin
How big are they? Sky lanterns from Light a Lantern stand over
90cm tall, rise to a height of 1,000 feet and travel for up to two miles
before the wick burns out and the sky lantern falls gently
to the ground
Are they environmentally friendly? Our sky lanterns are 100%
bio-degradable and non-flammable. They do not damage the
environment and unlike balloons, present no danger to wildlife. They
are recommended by a number of charities for this very
reason. Are they easy to release? They are extremely easy to
release. Only two people are required and from opening the box,
your first lantern could be in the air within a minute!
SAFETY
Sky lanterns are very safe. Our lanterns are made from
non-flammable paper and come with comprehensive safety &
release instructions inside every box
Sky lanterns should not be released in strong winds or in rain as the
lantern may not rise into the sky
Sky lanterns should not be released within five miles of a motorway,
airport or landing strip, near dry crops or on the coast
Sky lanterns are not classed as fireworks
(BS 7114 is not applicable)
