Location -Montevideo, the capital city’s latitude and longitude is:

34° 52' S, 56° 10' W

-The relative locations of Uruguay are Argentina and Brazil,

which are also its neighbouring countries. The ocean that

borders Uruguay is the Atlantic Ocean.

Nature-Made Place

One of the very nice places in

Uruguay is “Punta del Diablo” which

in English means “Tip of the Devil”.

It is called that because of its

crashing waves and the sunken

boats.

Just off the cost of Uruguay is another

beautiful island called “Isla de Gorriti”.

It is just 2 km. from Uruguay.

Here are some of the most popular sports given by the sea in Uruguay:

The most famous river in Uruguay is “Rio de la Plata”, which

in English means “Silver River”. It is known because it is the

point where salt water and sweet water meet. Rio de la Plata

is also very wide, as it is home to a special kind of dolphin

and other very rare fish and marine animals. In the

beginning it is about 2 kilometres (1.2 miles) to about 220

kilometres (140 miles) at the mouth.

Man-Made Place One of the nicest man-made places in

Uruguay is “Casa Pueblo” which in English

means “House Town”. In it are very famous

pictures.

Look at the “Plaza de Toro's” in Uruguay, which in English means

“Bull Ring” It has now been abandoned, but it is still beautiful.

Place The president of Uruguay is Jose Mujica

since 2010. He was elected ahead by

10% and he is doing a good job.

The most wide spread religion in

Uruguay is Rome Catholic (66%).

Then its Protestant (2%) and lastly it

is Jewish (1%).

The currency that the

Uruguay uses is the Uruguay

Peso. One Peso is equal to

0.05 U.S.A. dollars.

The language that

Uruguayans speak is

Spanish.

How does Uruguay act with nature?

1. Air is mostly polluted by the sea

because of an energy plant

which is in the borders of Brazil

and Uruguay's own energy

centers.

2. Another reason of Uruguay's

is because of its polluted water.

The water in Uruguay is polluted

because of the mining and meat

packing which accurse there.

Movement Uruguay is visited a lot because of its green land and

sunny weather. 40% of the people live in Montevideo,

the capital, because there are a lot of nice places to

visit and the jobs are good there. Half of the 3 million

people of Uruguay live in Montevideo.

• Uruguay in Spanish means River of Birds.

This comes from the Guarani tribes in

South America.

Most of the people in Uruguay have

ancestors that are Spanish, but one third of

the Uruguayans have Italian ancestors.

The stripes mean the nine provinces at the

time of liberation.
