Possible remuneration for storage
1. Peak shaving• Decrease demand charges for Basic Users
2. Demand control• Controllable demand compensation in the Wholesale Market and in the Regulated Tariff
3. Arbitrage • Storage behind-the-meter, charge the battery in base hours and discharge in peak hours
4. Capacity market• Increase the capacity income for generators • Decrease energy demand in critical hours (Suppliers or Users)
5. Ancillary services• Revenue recognition for ancillary services (e.g. frequency control)
6. Storage as transmission asset • To defer or displace transmission upgrades
Challenges: Full value recognition for storage
New Regulated Tariff• Recognition of peak hours in the New Regulated Tariff for Basic Users
