Continuously adjustable connection for grout-tight panel joints
The rows of slots in the PERI steel walers and couplings allowcontinuous tightening of paneljoints of even roughly erectedpanels.
The VARIO coupling also aligns the panels.
The multifunctional VARIO couplingusing wedges:
– Continuously tightens until joint grout-tight
– Aligns panels– Supports plywood fillers– Extends width of panels– Holds bulkheads– Stabilises internal corners– Is independently adjustable
on both sides.
IMPORTANT!To eliminate the effect of tolerancesand optimise panel joint alignment,the notches in the slots of PERI steelwalers and couplings must alwayspoint towards the concrete side.

Filler jointAny gap up to 1.25m wide can be fil-led.

Practical tip
Whether a wedge is locking or pulling is evident from its inclination:
Tip of wedge towards the panel joint= wedge pulling
Tip of wedge away from panel joint= wedge locking
Easy connection of panels withPERI VARIO GT 24:
1. Insert coupling centrally with the notches towards the formlining, and centre with wedge ➃.
2. On one side, hammer the first wedge ➀ into the 1st slot, and the second wedge ➁ into the 6th slot, with a gap of 4 slots between them.
3. To achieve a spacing of 5 cm between the two steel walers,the centering wedge ➃ remains inserted until you have pulled the formlining joint grout-tight with wedge ➂.
4. Remove the centering wedge ➃and insert it in the locking position in the sixth slot. This ensures the joint can resist tension and compression, and brings the panels into tight, flush alignment.

Bridge-buildingVARIO on climbing scaffolds and work platforms
Type-checked safety with KGF 240,KG 180 and CB 240, CB 160 systems.
The KGF 240 and CB 240 carriagesallow the formwork to be moved 75 cm on the platform without thecrane. To save time the formwork is raised together with the scaffold in a single lift of the crane.
These two systems ensure you canwork extremely safely without anyprojections (such as the brackets)above the surface of the platform to trip over.
To speed up erection, the stagingcan be prefabricated for immediateuse on site after site.

There are two alternative methodsof shuttering circular structureswith VARIO GT 24.
The VARIO articulated coupling con-nects the straight steel walers in apolygonal arrangement. Its wedgesallow it to be continuously adjustedin either direction to produce a cleanand flush joint between panels.Timber wedges inserted betweenthe walers and timber girders to produce the required curvature areclamped in place with hook straps.

The PERI V-anchor bracketFor easy and accurate installation ofanchors when using brace frames.
The V-anchor bracket and thepositioning coupling allow you tofix the anchor accurately at 45°.

The advantages of the anchor systemwith positioning coupler and V-anchorbracket are:– few components have to be

Special Applications
Single sided walls With VARIO and brace frame SB
For concreting against rock,existing walls or sheet piling,VARIO GT 24 with SB brace frames is used.
PERI brace frames allow singlesided concreting up to a maximumheight of 8.75 m (see PERI charts).
PERI brace frames SB-A0, A, B andC are sized for loading on a lorry orin a container.
PERI brace frames can be con-nected to all PERI wall formworksystems (TRIO, VARIO and RUNDFLEX) with standard systemcomponents.
Example:Anchor system DW 20:Permis. tension force to DIN 182162 x 150 kN = 300 kN
The positioning coupler is removedwith the 70 mm single ended spanner.
Anchor system easily fixed to reinforcement with wire and pliers.

VITAL points when using PERI brace frames:
1. The structural members (eg foun-dations or ground slabs) must beable to take the tension and com-pression forces arising.Check the design of the membersand position of the anchors whenplanning.
The following couplers are requi-red for connecting VARIO GT 24 to PERI brace frames SB-A0, A, Band C:
2. The “other side” of the singlesided formwork (existing walls, plan-king and strutting, rock, etc) mustobviously be able to withstand thefresh concrete pressure acting upon it.
3. DW tie rods installed for anchoringpurposes must not be welded orbent. We recommend the use ofPERI V-anchor brackets.
