Eat
Our campers are hungry. We see them arrive hungry to learn, to won-der, to help others, to play and to make new friends. With all that ac-tivity we need to feed them. Every morning we gather all campers and staff around tables and sit down to share food and drink.
Notices
If your child has food allergies let us know.
If your child has health problems let us know.
Dress: loose cool clothes for out-door play and moonbounce.
Wear sunscreen if necessary.
There will be tie-dyeing Wednes-day, wear clothes you don’t mind brightly colored.
Godly play is SPR’s Children’s formation
program. This Montessori approach encour-
ages children to use liturgical actions, reli-
gious language, silence, parable and sacred
stories to guide them into a deeper aware-
ness of God. Our Godly play teachers will
present a daily parable: The Good Shepherd,
The Good Samaritan, The Parable of the Mustard
Seed, The Parable of the Pearl, and The Good
Shepherd and World Communion. Each day the
Children will add a prayer related to the les-
son to the altar hanging that will soar above
the altar on Sunday the 14th.
This year our service projects all have close ties to SPR. Jack Sey-mour, SPR’s Deacon and executive director of the Cathedral Shelter of Chicago (CSC) will spend Monday with our campers as they learn about homelessness and create spe-cial gifts for the children and adults who are residents of CSC. We will also be making snack/lunch bags for individuals who use SPR’s food pantry and the Cathedral Shelter. Children will enrich our worship spaces with an altar display and a wall hanging for the chapel.
