given a survey to fill out and return

Does your Dog or Cat have a Virginia Beach Animal License?
It shall be unlawful for any person to own a dog or cat four (4) months old or older in
this city, unless such dog or cat is licensed.
Any Virginia Beach resident may obtain a one, two, or three year city dog or cat license

It’s Hurricane Season…Be Ready for Severe Weather Hurricane season runs from June 1 through Nov. 30
Press release dated June 1, 2018—go to vbgov.com to access the links
Sun, surf and sand…. Living in a coastal community is like being on vacation every day, but it also has its occa-
sional hurricanes, nor'easters and tropical storms. Don't wait to prepare and protect your home and your family.
Make a plan, get a kit, stay informed, know your risk, know your evacuation zone and know your evacuation route.
Here are important tips to ensure your safety before, during and after severe weather:
Make a plan:
Have a family emergency plan. Talk to your children. Everyone should know what to do in case family mem-
bers are not together when severe weather happens.
Make sure you have a safe place to go when severe thunderstorm or tornado warnings are issued. Safe areas
include basements and interior rooms such as bathrooms or closets on the lowest level of a sturdy building. Stay
away from windows. If outside, don't seek shelter under trees.
Talk to your insurance agent about low-cost flood insurance policy options or go to www.floodsmart.gov.
Know your evacuation zone and evacuation route in case you are to advised to leave the area.
Get a kit:
Keep emergency supplies on hand, including at least three days' nonperishable food and water, flashlights and batteries, first aid kit and medicines. Make a customized individual kit for babies, family members with func-tional or special needs, seniors, pets, and one to keep in each of your vehicles.
Stay Informed:
Register to receive emergency text messages, email alerts and warnings on your mobile devices at VBAlert.

mation including city operational status and facilities closure notices.
Follow the city's social media sites: www.facebook.com/cityofvabeach and www.twitter.com/cityofvabeach.
Contact Citizen Services: 311 or 385-3111 will provide current operating conditions and facility closures; do

Hampton Roads Transit is developing a new concept for local
bus service.
The idea behind the “Core 20” is to deploy a new network of better quality bus routes that will more effectively connect the
region.
Supported with state-of-the-art technologies and improved customer amenities, Core 20 routes would have 15-minute service frequency during rush hour, 30-minute service frequency during the day, and less frequent service late at night. Core 20 routes would provide service on weekends, with 30-minute frequency on Saturday. Weekday service would run from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. The plan would also deliver service to parts of the re-
gion that have very little today.
The plan is to connect more workers to jobs, improve access to education and work-force training, support current and new businesses, meet demand for new transporta-
tion options across all population segments, and help unleash the region’s potential.

MONTH: RE-USE do NOT place in
