VBS 2017 ... lt's a WRAPI 111

Signs Of a successfu I VBS:

• The kids wanted to stay each night ... they had more

songs to sing, scriptures to learn, crafts to make and of

course ... they wanted to play with Tracy too.• The volunteers were reluctant to leave .... The

teamwork was evident from so many who were here

until 9:30 and 10:30 at night as they prepared for the

following night's activities! • The crafts were creative and meaningful to the week's

message!• The recreation activities kept the kids involved and

they had fun together I

• The meals and snacks were out of this world!

• The music brought our church building to life .... To hear

these kids sing "Awesome God" ... was mind blowing! • The story time took us from the beginning of creation

and reaffirmed that despite our failures at any point in

life, there is a promise that God will always be there!• We were sad to see the week come to an end!

When asked what they

liked most about VBS, the kids said:

This week we had a total of 56 children that were registered for our Galactic Starveyors VBS! That is an awesome outreach ministry that we have for this community that we live in. When we can touch that many hearts with the word/work of God, it is more meaningful than anything else on this Earth.

Our Bible story on Monday taught the children about the story of Creation and that is the beginning of our relationship with God. Tuesday's lesson explained the story of Adam and Eve. The children were able to learn that sin messed eve1ything up but God is still in control. On Wednesday our Bible story explained the story of the birth of Jesus and that God sent his Son Jesus to be the Savoir. Thursday's Bible story was the story of the death of Jesus. We praise his name because Jesus gave his life to be our Savior.

What does VBS mean to you? Below are some things that come to mind as l think about what VBS is.

Very ,!!right tudeots. Never underestimate what a child can learn! The children who come to VBS eagerly devour the teachings they receive. They are being filled with the truth of God. They can learn so much in such a short time. It is so important that we give our children every opportunity to hear the word of God. As parents and grandparents, we have been given a charge to teach them (Deut.6:6-9).

A Valuable ,!!ouoty of ouls. Each child who attends our VBS represents a soul that we might be able to reach for Christ. There have been many throughout the years who have been converted to the Lord as a result of being introduced to God, Jesus, d1e Bible, and the church through VBS. Many children have been so excited about VBS that they ask their parents to start bringing them to Sunday school. Those parents then hear the gospel, and obey it, and now a family that was once lost is working in the kingdom of the Lord. Don't forget the value of each soul present (Matt.16:26)!
