Abraham Blunda, PE, LEED AP, PrincipalWith 20 years experience, Mr. Blunda leads the Mixed-Use Division and specializes in residential projects of Type V / III construction over Type I and free-standing parking structures. He maintains an intimate knowledge of BIM software such as REVIT, RAM Concept, RAM Structural System, ETABS SAFE, ADAPT and RISA.

Robert Chou, MS, SE, Senior PrincipalMr. Chou has 35 years experience and has served as structural engineer of record for thousands of notable projects across the Western U.S. He is recognized for pragmatic designs and problem solving. His approach to simplifying plan presentation has earned praise from clients and contractors, influencing peers to follow suit.

Tom VanDorpe, MS, SE, Senior PrincipalWith 25 years experience, Mr. VanDorpe leads a world-class team that is recognized for leadership in mid-rise construction, including “Type III Modified” Podium and Wrap developments. His participation on numerous technical committees has advanced building codes affecting light frame construction.

Shahla Soltani, MS, PE, PrincipalWith 25 years experience, Mrs. Soltani is the head of Construction Administration. Using her structural design and code expertise, she helps clients move efficiently through the construction phase. Her process for handling structural observations, RFIs, and submittals is highly regarded by owners, contractors and building departments.

Brett Kaufmann, MS, SE, Associate PrincipalWith 25 years of experience in structural engineering design, project management, construction administration, and consultant coordination. Mr. Kaufmann leads the Commercial Division. He provides clients extensive experience across a variety of market sectors, including retail, office, education, parking, residential and hospitality.

With 20 years experience, Mr. Van Gaale directs the Residential Design Division. He specializes in design and analysis of wood, steel and concrete structures. He has been instrumental in developing cost-effective, value-engineered design on projects ranging from SF tract homes to high density multi-story apartments.
