Out of total 1421 students who registered, only 1099

students got a job.

• We could impress upon companies to recruit from the

What the Students Should Do?

• Empower themselves further by improving English

skills, soft skills, strong project work while studying

2nd semester of E4.

RGUKT,……)

• Availing the campus recruitment opportunities created

by RGUKT

• Applying in time for jobs advertised in news papers

• Appearing in time for competitive examinations (GATE,

IES, CAT, APPSC, Civil services,….)

• Applying for companies on-line as well as by

personally approaching

• Exploring options for starting on own.

RGUKT Prof. R. V. Raja Kumar

Beware of the Folloing

• Placements can cause peer pressure and could be

stressful. No selection can be unreasonably dejecting.

• Often be blown out of proportion and viewed as a sign

of failure.

• Classmates, not so informed parents, neighbours, . . .

may be asking and it can cause pressure.

• Such pressure may be unnecessarily damaging to you!

• It may be dejecting Do not allow it to happen.

RGUKT Prof. R. V. Raja Kumar

Remember the Following

• It is highly subjective: Outcome may be dependent on many

factors – short exercise, mood of the interviewer, his/her gut

feeling,

• There are so many external factors influencing the decision

• Some people of incredible technical calibre struggle under such

close scrutiny

• The company may be a wrong one for you and vice versa.

• Selection of 3 out of 400 Non-selection of 397.

• If 10 different companies are asked to select 10 each, the

selection list of each can be widely different. No selection is not

rejection or failure. It is non-suitability at that subjective exercise.

• Out of 20 attempts, 20th may be an ‘yes’. That is what you need.

It is the same story for many, everywhere!

RGUKT Prof. R. V. Raja Kumar

Please Note the Following

• Failures are stepping stones for success.

• Every successful person has several failure also.

• Some people of incredible technical caliber also

struggle at times.

• World is full of opportunities. You have your right place.

• If today it is not your day, tomorrow or a day next

week/month/year would be yours.

• You need one opportunity and need not be more.

RGUKT Prof. R. V. Raja Kumar

What Would you Do?

• Learn from your experiences

• Instead of dwelling on your disappointment, keep your

mind focused on other opportunities and continue to

present yourself to the best of your ability.

• Analyze what went wrong and make corrections.

• Look for a company which is right for you.

• Do not be too rigid about the company about which you

are not too sure of.

• How many in the world get what they want? Do not be

rigid about the job or salary or type of work.

Hope you have followed, do not be negative,

face the situation, stand up and work for a

better tomorrow for you.

Entrepreneurship

• There are plenty of opportunities – big and small

Small workshop/garage, souvenir manufacturing,

items for rural sector, small contracts, surveying,

small chemical plants, ice plants, network security

auditing, small services,… to big things.

• Some do not even need big capital.

• An idea can change your life.

• Listen to the success stories (no job turned

blessing!)

• Be patient and be ready to take some risks.

• Opportunities Govt support, bank loans,

cooperatives,…..

Thank You
