WHO RUNS THE V CE ?WhiletheCollegeadministerstheVCEattheschoollevel,atthestateleveltheVictorianCurriculumandAssessmentAuthority(VCAA)isthebodythatsetsdownalltherequirementsfortheVCE.TheCollegecannotvarytheserequirements.WhenyouenrollintheVCEatMullaunayouwillalsoenrollwiththeVCAAandindoingsoyouwillagreetofollowallofitsregulations,aswellasthoseoftheCollege.StudentswillreceiveaVCEStudentHandbookoutliningtheseregulations.

Units1and2Outcomesareassessedatschoollevelbyyourteachers,usingassessmenttasksandmarkingsystemsdecidedonbythecollege(usingadvicefromtheVCAA).ItisCollegepolicytohaveinternalexaminationsatYear11.
Units3and4SchoolAssessmentOutcomesareassessedatschoollevelbyyourteachers,usingdesignatedSchoolAssessedCourseworkandSchoolAssessedTaskswhicharesetdownbytheVCAA.OutcomesandtheSchoolAssessedCourseworkusedtoassessthemareallocatedmarksbytheVCAAaddingupto100formostunits(3+4).
Unit3and4ExaminationsExternalExamsareanimportantpartoftheVCE.Eachstudyincludesoneexamination.Examinationsmaycontributeatleast50%tothestudyscore.Aswellasbeingapartofyourstudyscore,examswillbeusedtomoderateyoursubject’sschoolresultsalongwiththeGAT.
GeneralAchievementTest(GAT)TheGATisatestofgeneralabilitywhichallUnit3+4studentsareexpectedtocomplete.TheVCAAissuesabookletforUnit3+4studentsexplainingthedetailsoftheGATeachyear.YouwillreceiveGATpracticeatschoolpriortothetest.TheCollegealsotimetablesapracticeGATforallstudentsundertakingaUnit3/4subject.
