Issue III | 2013-2014
Welcome to our Skulls Sentinel newsletter. Since 1850 Phi Kappa Sigma has been an organization for men withpurpose and values, who strive to become Men of Honor. Over the years, the Delta Upsilon chapter here at VCU hasdemonstrated our Fraternity’s core values by following our vision and mission created by the Founding Fathers ofDelta Upsilon. This past semester we were successful in various ways. During our third annual Spring DunkACopevent, where students and faculty dunk members of the VCU Police Department, we surpassed our previousfundraising goals. During our newly adopted ShaveASkull event, brothers volunteered to shave their heads to raiseeven more money. All of the funds raised during our philanthropy events benefit our Fraternity’s national charity, The Leukemia &Lymphoma Society. Every year we volunteer in the charity’s annual Night the Light Walk. This pastyear we made a great impact on the Children’s Museum of Richmond by painting and cleaning around the buildingto keep it safe for toddlers and infants. We excel not only in philanthropy and community service, but on the fieldas well. This past year we won intramural championships in regular and coed dodgeball, kickball, and flag football. In this coming fall, we hope to keep our titles in these events. Delta Upsilon will stop at nothing to achieve success in all endeavors and look forward to what lies ahead in the future.
