    Vegetarian meal plan by age: 12

    months

    Written for BabyCenter India

    It is important that you start introducing a variety of food in your toddler's diet

    gradually. These will provide the calories, proteins, vitamins and minerals that are

    essential for her growth. The amount of food eaten would vary from child to child and

    would also depend on when you introduce a particular food to your toddler. Talk to

    your doctor as well about the serving size that would suit your child.

    Here we have planned a week's sample menu for your toddler. She may or may not

    eat the exact amounts given here. You may even need to skip an option initially till

    she gets used to eating right. See how it works for you.

    A week 's s ample vegetar ian meal plan for a one year old

    Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday

    Monday

    Breastfeed or 1 cup full cream milk.

    cup cereal such as ragi (nachni) or dalia cooked

    in whole cream milk Add -1 tsp of powdered or finely chopped

    dry fruits to increase the nutritive value.

    1 fresh fruit cubed into small pieces or 1 cup of

    fruit or vegetable juice or 1 cup of tomato or vegetable soup.

    cup dal, 1-2 tsp of seasonal

    veggies, such as lauki, methi, etc. with 1 chapatti or cup rice.

    1 cup milkshake with a fruit of your choice

    (bananas, mangoes or strawberries).

    cup vegetable khichri with vegetables such as peas,

    carrots, and potatoes.

    Early Morning:

    Breakfast:

    Mid morning:

    Lunch (Curd optional):

    Evening snack:

    Dinner:

    Tuesday

    Breastfeed or 1 cup full cream milk.

    -1 small parantha with a stuffing of mashed

    paneer and cooked vegetables.

    1 small idli with coconut or tomato chutney.

    1 fresh fruit cubed into small pieces or 1 cup of

    fruit or vegetable juice or 1 cup of tomato or vegetable soup.

    Baby vegetable pizza with paneer, tomatoes, capsicum

    and cheese topping.

    banana muffin with cup milk.

    cup soya granules and aloo curry with cup rice or

    1 chapatti.

    Thursday

    Breastfeed or 1 cup full cream milk.

    Cheese toast made with a slice of cheese and a

    layer of coriander chutney with a 1 slice of wheat bread.

    1 fresh fruit cubed into small pieces or 1 cup of

    fruit or vegetable juice or 1 cup of tomato or vegetable soup.

    cup vegetable biryani and grated

    cucumber or carrots.

    Fruit smoothie made with 1 cup whole cream

    milk and a seasonal fruit.

    cup matar paneer and 1 chapatti or parantha.

    Friday

    Breastfeed or 1 cup full cream milk.

    1 small moong dal cheela (dosa) with coriander or

    tomato chutney.

    1 fresh fruit cubed into small pieces or 1 cup of

    fruit or vegetable juice or 1 cup of tomato or vegetable soup.

    cup baked vegetables such as cauliflower, beans and

    peas, mashed potatoes with soup.

    One small paneer or tofu cutlet with cup

    milk.

    cup dal, a small portion of seasonal vegetables such

    as carrot, cauliflower, beans and ladyfinger or bhindi, chapatti or

    cup rice.

    Occasionally, you may want to serve . Do remember to keep your toddler's

    daily sugar intake to about 1-2 tsp, and use honey or jaggery (gur) to sweeten the

    dessert instead of sugar.

    chopped beans and carrots.

    1 fresh fruit cubed into small pieces or 1 cup of

    - 1 slice fruit/walnut bread with cup milk.

    1 slice whole wheat bread pizza topped with finely

    chopped vegetables such as tomatoes, onions, beans,

    capsicum and cottage cheese.

    of teaspoons of seasonal vegetables such as aloo methi or

    gajar aloo and matar.

    Hi, My son is 10 months old, i am still breastfeeding him, and is anable to

    swallow thick food,i have to mash everything before feeding him, he does not

    like to take any new food and mostly not interested in eating. Suggest me ways

    by which i can develope his taste and make him interested in eating.

    son who is 15 months old directly swallows food?
